They all go except Viney.

I know Mission has a great reputation and Melbourne had a poor fitness base to begin with, but it just looks as though there is no explosive power to any of our players. They just can't seem to break or hold tackles, little or now acceleration.

Why? Our player development has been poor. Doesn't mean [censored] that his son plays for us.

Based on his job title Misson doesn't have a lot of managing to do

I think against GWS we clearly showed we have enough fitness to run all over them so we probably aren't the most unfit side.

I'm concerned about or power and strength but so much of that comes from attitudes. Jones doesn't lack power or acceleration so where is it from the other mids.

When it comes to Neeld, Craig & Misson we can't just get rid of all of them as we'd have to pay them all out & as far as I'm aware we'vė got stuff all money as it is.

Mission the only one to stay. Fail to see why Viney is so untouchable. Players not developing.

Keep Misson and Craig, they hold the most amount of experience at the club - something PJ was highlighting we lack.

I'll judge Neeld and his short-term performance once Trengrove, Viney, Silvia, Clark, Tommy Mac and Toumpas are back. No one can do much with this current list.

We got flogged in the first two rounds with an almost full list to choose from. No coach ever has all his best players to choose from, it's how he gets the best out of the players available. Something that Neeld has failed miserably at.

Don McLardy - President: Has to go, the club cetainly needs change from the very top and Don's been in charge during a very bleak time. Change is needed to bring about some form of hope.

Mark Neeld – Senior Coach: I'll still give him the rest of this year but at this stage I'd say it's 90-95% chance I'd be bringing in someone else, but only if a succesful experienced coach can be found as his replacement, otherwise if he'd only be replaced by a rookie he may as well get to see out his contract.

Tim Harrington – General Manager - List Management: Similar to McLardy, been around for awhile with limited succes. Might be time for a change.

Todd Viney - General Manager - Player Development & Strategy: As Peter Jackson has said, we lack a lot of experienced football people around th club and Viney is one of the few we have. I'd be keen to keep Viney but maybe in a different role like Harrington's? I'd love to see Nathan Basset come to the club in Todd's role.

Neil Craig - Director Of Sports Performance: See my comments above re: Todd Viney, I reckon Craig would be of better use in Josh Mahoney's role.

Josh Mahoney – Football Manager: I think Jackson's comments about inexperienced peopel in roles is directed at Mahoney in particular. Sorry Josh, but time to move on.

Jade Rawlings – Backline Coach: Don't know what it is, but there's something about Rawlings I like. Keep.

Brian Royal - Midfield Coach: First to go. Need to get a good midfield coach replacement. Would love Leigh Tudor, experienced and has had success everywhere he's gone.

Leigh Brown – Forward Line Coach: Sorry Leigh, but you're another of the inexperienced lot who should be moved on. Peter Sumich in this role please!

David Misson – Elite Performance Manager: His credentials are to good to cast aside. I'd be in the camp for keeping.

Moderators, surely we cannot have well reasoned and measured posts like this on Demonland. Off with their heads.

Fitzpatrick 5, Davis another good performance, (7 in a row, yet we get to watch a mixture of Sellar, Gillies and Pederson) Taggert, Barry are coming along as is Tynan. So not sure how you can say players not developing. Frankly I get the feeling we may die wondering about some of these kids. The easy option for them this week is to drop Gawn for Fitzpatrick and they'll probably go for it, but IMO it should be Jamar who hardly got a kick and is supposedly a role model. So much for our senior role models. Have to say I don't understand their strategy with a number of these kids and even worse why they continue to carry some who are done.

To be fair to Brown for me he'd be a victim of circumstances rather then McLardy, Harrington, Royal & Mahoney who's weaknesses are probably more blatant.

I wouldn't be against keeping Brown, but if we could land someone like a Sumich in his role I'd be keen to make the move.

In the first two games we had Clark and Dawes out... hardly a full list to choose from when your two key forwards are out.

I would like to see what he and the team can do when Trengrove, Clark, Viney, Silvia and Tommy Mac are back in a couple of rounds + our bye... particulary considering 4 of those are our best players.

You're right - its how the coach gets the best out of his players, and looking at our list's skills, fitness and effort we are lucky we arent having consecutive 186s.

Our forward line is actually very good when the ball gets in there, which isnt often enough consideing its on the end of the worst mideifld of all time,

Firstly, it should be noted that as fans we don't have insight into the inner workings of the club but can only judge from what we see on the field, which for a lot of people on this list is an unfair assessment of what they are doing at the club. We don't get to see the work that the people are doing in the Melbourne offices and therefore our criticism may be unwarranted if the players simply aren't performing on the field. At the same time it might be completely justified but the point is that we're basing it of an assumption.

Secondly, people often just want change for the sake of change - a trend that seems particularly prevalent in sporting culture. This is clearly intensified under crisis but it's really important that those in charge of the careers of these 10 people (and assumingly many others as well) don't just make snap decisions for the sake of just giving the appearance of moving forward. Decisions like that tend to create instability throughout the organisation and the last thing this club needs is more instability. I've been really pleased that Jackson has given the indication that while no-ones position is safe, he won't be rushed into making the necessary changes.

Don McLardy - President

Really difficult to quantify his success at the club. Was brought into the position under tragic circumstances and the job hasn't seemed to have gotten any easier since. The handling of the tanking scandal and the sacking of the CEO in particular have certainly raised questions about his leadership. A decision to remove him might be purely as a scarifical. Verdict: Most Likely gone.

Mark Neeld – Senior Coach

Enjoyed very little success, which regardless of the clubs youth falls onto him. Verdict: Gone. Not sure if it will be mid-season or will coach out the year.

Tim Harrington – General Manager - List Management

Has helped secure some big names in Clark and Dawes and implement the recruiting strategies of the coach (the strategy itself remains in question). Most fans want him out but his job probably relies on whether or not he stop key players on our list leaving. Verdict: Unsure.

Todd Viney - General Manager - Player Development & Strategy

Has experience at successful clubs, plus is a former captain and club champion. In a position where his influence wouldn't show for at least a few years. Verdict: Stay. Although his role may be readjusted under the new footy dept., structures that will be implemented.

Neil Craig - Director Of Sports Performance

Very experienced and players have often spoken very highly of his influence on the club. His role will come under review from Jackson. Verdict: Stay.

Josh Mahoney – Football Manager

One of the few people left from Bailey's era, his position will definitely come under review due to the restructuring of the footy department. Verdict: Probably gone or at least reshuffled under a new structure.

Jade Rawlings – Backline Coach

Reasonable experience as an assistant coach; Backline is in reasonable shape but is lacking with an out of form Frawley and also without Rivers leadership and ability to read the play. Seems competent but if the head coach goes then usually the assistants fall as well. Verdict: Possibly gone.

Brian Royal - Midfield Coach

Only assistant from Bailey era that is still coaching at the club. Midfield is in an abysmal state, hasn't progressed at all under him. Verdict: Gone.

Leigh Brown – Forward Line Coach

Least experienced assistant coach but the most recent to play the game. Unfortunate to not have both key forwards in the side as that hasn't helped the structures at all but the defensive pressure in the forward line is almost non-existant. Verdict: Possibly Gone.

David Misson – Elite Performance Manager

Plenty of success at several sporting clubs not just AFL teams. From reports our fitness has increased but this hasn't really been shown on the ground yet - debatable if fitness or work-rate in general is the cause of this. Similarly to Viney's position the benefits of his program won't really show for a few years. Verdict: Stay.

While Jackson has made it clear that no-ones position is safe, we have to ensure that anybody removed from the club can be replaced by someone that can improve the club more than the current staff. Which sounds like an obvious comment but considering Melbourne's position it should be noted that we may not have the same level of talent to draw from as the top tier clubs. And lastly, by simply restructuring the club and adjusting the roles of some people we might be able to improve the club more than if we slashed the staff and replaced them, particularly considering the instability that may cause and also the significant financial cost it would bring.
