GAME DAY - Round 8

Featured Replies

Turnovers. Skill under pressure. Make it hard, if not impossible, regardless of anything else. Just can't hit targets.

the best passage of play for the year right there

Geez, reckon a Quarter time lead would have been big odds!

yeah!!

Dawesy!! We look a bit more switched on today, and the Tigers are just cruising so far, hopefully they don't fire up too early.

big dawes

Is it just me or has Matt Jones moulded his game on Nathan Jones (backs himself in congestion)

They seem to be the only players that keep theiir heads when they have the ball and wait until there is an option

they have kicked 2 straight from their arse

WE WON A QUARTER!!!

good start boys....another 3 qtrs of that effort is all i ask

Good to win the first quarter. Now to reset and win the next

I disagree... they want this badly and are simply being rattled by the unexpected ferocity of the Dees play.

Rivers would have marked it instead of punching like Garland just did. Lack of confidence and ability.

First 1st quarter we've won all year!!!

Oh no, Neeld has his post game obscure stat already....

Love Dawes, he has already covered over 3 kilometers as our key forward and hes a workhorse and smart as hell.

Trengove is playing pathetically yet again and he might cost us the game

Need Howe to step up too.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
