Stress less. We will win this. Sylvia is looking sharp, ball isn't bouncing his war, Evans and jones getting a bit. We will get up here. 3 hot days don't make a summer...

Nicholson just watches a player runpast himto goal , didnt even think about tackling him

We don't deserve to win this.

I like Evans, Howe, Tapscott, Viney, The Joneses, Dawes and big Maxie - im not fussed about the rest...

U jest. Look at our stats and compare them to gold coast's. At this stage 40 points down might be a win.

We really won't. Sorry, but they're smashing us.

Is it me or is the umpiring terrible?

So all you people that rate jake spencer how do you feel now. He is a dead set list clogger at present. Needs to show some talent or its bye bye at years end

Not even in the game

Thank god I'm going to Bali next week. I won't miss this sh!t heap of a team.

Feeling abit stupid for thinking we would beat Gold Coast, oh how i love being a Melbourne supporter

Why is McKenzie playing?

He wins the coach's award every year.

There is a certain calmness in accepting the fact that we are actually worse than most people could ever have imagined.

Why is McKenzie playing?

How much grog do you need to consume before you think Mckenzie is a AFL midfielder? Ask the MFC they are obviously on the grog.

Ablett 17 disposals

Dunn 5

Suns 28 tackles to sh I t trucks 13.... We are not very hard to play against Mark.

I've just dropped off the Jake Spencer bandwagon.

I believe that there'll be a bus along in a minute.

I think Judd's lack of form lulled everyone into thinking Dunn did something last week.

Judd's not even close to his best. Ablett is, and Dunn is being shown to be the insipid footballer he really is.

Moreover, if we play Dunn as a tagger, we now have no role for McKenzie. How he gets a game is beyond me, if he's not tagging.

When you look at our list and you read Dunn, McKenzie, Sellar, Strauss, Nicholson and Spencer, it really shouldn't be hard to see why we're crap. That doesn't excuse being 40 points down to the Gold Coast at the MCG, though.

Why don't our players not look forwards after taking a mark? It's junior stuff.

EDIT: McKenzie just took a mark outside fifty then looked sideways instead into to the top if the square, eventually he kicked it forwards but it is that slit second of time wasted that makes all the difference.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
