yes and i cant wait

Would love to see VIney dominate today

Very excited to see Dawes play his first game

Really Keen for this one, Should win, get to see Dawesy in action for the first time besides the one quarter in the NAB cup!

Bring on the suns!

I'm expecting a big win today. 30-60 points would be great, although anything north of 1 point would be acceptable.

2 weeks ago I asked what everybody's number was in counting how many NQRs we had in that week's 22.. the result was the same number I had voted - 8

I look at today's side and I count 11.. that can't be a good sign

no idea what to expect today, anything from a 40 point loss to an 80 point win

While some of our NQRs are certainly not Pennski material, many of them are hard tacklers and hard runners (which is exactly what we need at this stage of our development).

The doomsday talk on here beginning from around 7 oclock tonight will be unprecedented

I wonder who is going to kick their goals, we have options up forward, without dixon i can't see who is going to kick them a bag and give them a winning score, guys like frawley should be too good for their direct opponent.

Another massive Neeld error. For several days the weather forecast has been for late rain. As I look at the radar it would seem that we are in for a very wet game. Simply we are way to tall for wet conditions. There is no excuse for this. It is an incredibly unprofessional error. My opinion of Neeld has again dropped. He is a disaster

We will get smashed due to the midfield dominance of GC and lack of beneath the knees agility due to playing too tall for the conditions.

Maybe this will be Neelds last.

Now there's a line I haven't heard for a while :)

Nope - will see out his contract....and there could be a late change in the line - up coming up.

It's a nice change isn't it, is it possible to swap rodan or davey for sellar yet though? if it's wet surely another big body would be good around the ball

Ablett was already going to look a class above everyone else on the field. In wet weather he will look like an alien, such will be the differential in skill level.

I'm pretty sure you can.

Perhaps Rodan?

Davey late in for Tommy Mac. Davey sub

Agree - he'll be shimmering....and Danks free.

It's raining, I cringe to see Sellar operate in the wet

If that dude caught a quarter of the balls he got two hands to, he'd lead the league in marks. He and Shaun Hampson are in a class of their own in that regard.

Yep, official

Ouff. Thank god we at least included Sellar ... his chance to refind some of his solid form down back from last year.

Maybe more going on with Tommy Mac than we know about ...

Crows might top our 148 point loss here, looking pretty bad for the Giants, in the 4th quarter and the scumdog millionaire has 8 touches.

You would expect so. But there needs to be two late changes. Roden and Davey must come in. Sellar plus one more big must come out. Magnar would have been perfect in the rain.

As for Neeld, if we hold this coach as you suggest, he will drive us off the cliff. I don't believe the board has suicidal tendencies. No coach has ever displayed such incompetence, and continued thrashings and survived.... Neeld will not survive.

Lynch has 10.

GNF, we're in the wrong thread for this chat.

I know you're not a Neeld fan, but please, less histrionics.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
