Can you play Magner against the Suns lightning midfield?

Now THAT would be tanking.

Now there's an idea

That should help if we put any one of those in the midfield, not.

If he promotes Rodan to the mid field it will confirm to me that he's in the wrong business, this guy is past it and it smacks of trying to justify his drafting in the first place.

Round 1 in Rodan

Round 2 out Rodan

Round 3 in Rodan

Round 4 out Rodan

Round 5 in Rodan

Round 6 out Rodan

Round 7 in Rodan

And Neeld doesn't have issues. can't believe McLardy is letting this play out.

If he could kick he'd already be in the side as a regular.

Then why does Tom McDonald get a game?

It's also called selecting players around the opposition line-up, and Rodan is at the very least, solid-bodied.

Royal on MFC team chat re Jetta: "Certainly Nev was close, however the suspension has cost him a place out of the side. Brian."

No s#$t Brian, he was suspended for 3 weeks, does that mean MFC add an extra week themselves from now on does it?

Yes it does - he was showing aggresion and thats clearly not part of our 'gameplan' ............ jk

It's pretty silly, that's for sure.

Hey Neeldy! Ever heard of giving a player a run at it?

Then why does Tom McDonald get a game?

Because he can defend like nobody's business.

Good point mate, lets hope the club works hard to lock Rodan into a long term contract going forward.

Maybe Pederson and Sellar while we're going? sorry couldn't help myself :)

An extra 2 or 3 weeks it seems - Casey have a bye this week, so Jetta won't get any game time this week...then he'll have to come back through Casey to get some match fitness...

What is with your need to add insult to EVERY post? Grow up ffs.

Jetta's suspension is up, right? Disappointing he isn't playing, I think he brings a lot of effort and hardness to the team.

That is one sh*t line up.

Where is poor Fitzpatrick? Kid works his butt off and still no game?

I'm surprised by the Fitzpatrick decision. If the side is going to look pi## weak, at least have it look that way because of a couple of players having their first run in the ones.

I'd have thought Taggert would have been pressing also. Maybe next week.

As in having to make the trip west to come back incredibly dispirited.

you'll notice that the insults only go to the ridiculous, unreasonable club-bashing/anti-Neeld posts

somebody has to say something

We should know a little more about the coaching abilities after this game. Cant see too may excuses available. This is a game we should win.

Definitely sick of hearing that from Neeld. It is a weak excuse in my eyes.

The South Park gif needs to become the unofficial D'Land logo.

Seriously. It pretty much sums up everything I love and hate about this forum. It could be placed on the 3rd page of any open thread and adequately reflect the state of the dialogue.

It's so genius it even made me smile right after looking at that incredibly uninspiring team.

Have to keep a couple eggs in the basket for a rainy day (like last week)

I think no matter the result Neeld was always going to talk about how inexperienced we were compared tp Carlton - the additions of Kent, Strauss etc. seemed to be something for Neeld to lean on in the case of a flogging

It's a shame Young Dee, this will be a very exciting day for the club, Skipper Jones leading the team onto the ground for the first time, would have been great for supporters to see some young players in Fitzy and Tynan running onto the MCG as well, a changing of the guard, but Neeldy has beefed the team up with Rodan and Stellar, huge opportunity missed, very disappointed in the club, can not see the point, self preservation maybe.

Jesus. Imagine if your career rested on James Sellar?

Bluey's got a point, would much rather see a Fitzpatrick, Toumpas, Tynan, Blease etc under a new skipper I think to a certain extent is their spiritual leader, rather than reeling off Rodan, Brynes, Davey etc....its the young kids that would so much confidence from beating a team thats their peers. IMO this weeks in's are a real dissappointment except for Dawes inclusion.

Opportunity missed.

agreed ... time for the new blood to be given 5-6 games on the trot.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
