Casey Scorpions v Williamstown

Featured Replies

Im guessing no news from KC means he either got lost in the dark looking for something to eat or Casey are not playing well.

I am sometimes suprised when I hear KC talikng about getting something to eat and I remeber that he/she is human. KC is always so reliable that I almost think he/she is robotic.

Good work KC - if there was a best Demonlander award you would probalby get it (maybe RR could start a poll?)

He's not skinny and he will be developed in one year

Thats what Gysbetts,Watts,Blease, Strauss, Cook, Fitzpatrick, Morton and whoever i left out thought, FMD pick a kid with muscle on his frame, you know like the strong clubs do, Stringer from the Dogs has showed more in the 1st half than Toumpas has showed in the first 5 games.

KC, I can't express how helpful it is that you do this for us all on D'Land.

Thanks for all you do mate. It's a big help.

I think we need to let this new coaching group have a shot before assuming they will suck at developing players like the previous coaching group.

Look at Kent, Taggert, Viney, Hogan etc. they are enourmous and have already shown great potential.

Has Viney only played at senior level?

Pffff.... Have you never not had a negative observation ! I will be looking for your pro toumpas posts in a year or so !!

Great win - Willy rated as one of the top teams

Go Scorps

That should put Casey on top of the ladder right? Unbeaten?

Great to see the young developing demons can develop with a winning culture.

I was originally skeptical of the Casey and Melbourne relationship but I hope that is now stronger than ever.

Has Viney only played at senior level?

Senior VFL last year and senior MFC this year.

So much for my warnings about not backing Casey with three in Brisbane as emergencies.

Now if the Dees can just get up tomorrow

Has Viney only played at senior level?

This year yes but last year he had a handful of games at Casey

I have not seen any reason why that kid was taken at pick 4, give me a reason why he was, i cant see it?

Comparing like with like might give your point some validity, Stringer is a KPF and 191 cm.

Pick a kid with muscle on his frame? Hogan: 97 Kg

did you know they left the best of the emergencies in Strauss in Melbourne!

Although spencer is a beast at VFL level!

Hogan is next year, we recruit Jump Jockeys.

Patience is a virtue.

Patience is a virtue.

So is Jack Watts.

hes probably the best kick in the team and runs to space well. Can win his own footy (not at alf level yet). Has exceptional character.

In hindsight I'd plug and play wines but outside skilled types can take time.

Judge him in 3 weeks time he's bound to have at least 1 good VFL game by then

I have not seen any reason why that kid was taken at pick 4, give me a reason why he was, i cant see it?

Was not at Casey and have not much idea from the posts here how he played.

It is very early to be making predictions but I have to say in the games I have seen he has not looked anything like a number 4 pick.

But lets give the kid a year or two before we get too anxious

So is Jack Watts.

I thought this was about Toumpas

the kid is 6 weeks into his afl career.....give him a chance ffs

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
