Kostya tzu lost a world title fight against Ricky Hatton in Manchester a few years ago. Tzu, one of the greatest of his time and undisputed champion of the world was asked why he lost the fight so convincingly. His response was, 'my preparation and training leading up to the fight was better than any previous fight I have had, actually, the preparation was so good that I went into the fight a little too relaxed and Ricky was full of determination and didn't give me a chance to implement my fight strategy'. Ofcourse I am summarizing as it was so long ago, but in essence that is what he said. Actually, the quote is in his book.

Maybe, just maybe, the demons preparation for the game went so well, that they went onto the game a bit relaxed and not as hungry as the power.

Hopefully against the bombers we can get a cracker up our arse and realize that all the training, strategy and preparation is useless unless you are hungry enough to get the bloody pill.

Here's hoping that there is a silver lining.

That's more positive than I was expecting from you tonatopia, and I appreciate it. I don't know where our improvement will come from anymore. The entire supporter base has gotten so emotional that every single coach, player and administrator's head couldn't stem the pitchforks and cries of mutiny. And really, I'm the same at this point, and I think it will have to come down to the players. If you guys don't start putting in, we're signing out as a club. Backs to the wall, fighting for existence and all that.

Like, I was drunk already, but thinking about the dees is just depressing.

Maybe Kosta went into the fight not expecting Ricky Hatton to get away with the 'Hold and hit' tactics that he did.

Kosta had previously retired before the Hatton fight and had only fought once a year leading into the Hatton fight - as opposed to 4-5 times a year in his prime.

If Tszyu lost, it's because he was ring rusty, more so than lack of strategy - and on top of that Hatton was allowed to practically wrestle him.
Hatton then went on to fight Mayweather and wasn't allowed to clinch at all and as a result Mayweather KO'd him.

If Hatton wasn't allowed to clinch against Tszyu - even with Kosta being past his best - Kosta would've KO'd Hatton.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
