Who will be the next coach of MFC?

Featured Replies

At this rate, Mark Neelds tenure will last until about round 10.

1. Who is likely to be the caretaker coach?

2. Who do we want to be the new coach?

Im gonna be honest - i think he's gawn!

Jade has had experience in the caretaker role.

I'm willing to give my whole yearly salary to bring Thompson in ;-)

Get the club some good peptides - its our only hope.

Thompson won't coach anywhere else.

Paul Roo's would be ideal, but he wouldn't be silly enough to take the gig.

As a side note, I know Roo's is a [censored], but I've liked our past 3 coaches and look how that's turned out.

I fear that our next coach will be our last.

Surely we cant survive much more of this garbage. 7 Years and still finding ways to get worse. How is that even possible.

as long as Gary Lyon is not involved we should be ok

Ringa ding ding ding ding ding ding.

Port had enough trouble attracting a coach - good luck getting anyone interested now.

Grow a pair of balls and throw big dollars at Paul Roos. Stop [censored] farting around with untried coaches who have no friggin idea.

Get a proven premiership coach and get serious.

We can't afford to continue this downward spiral or we won't survive.

Does anyone really think it matters who the coach is. Not defending Neeld, but the issues at this club are far greater than just the coach. We could have Leigh Mathews, Paul Roos, Sir Alex Ferguson, or whoever, we would still be [censored].

Last year I had the feeling the supporter base was maybe 75-25 in Neeld's favour. But after just four more quarters of football, I think it would be 25-75, or probably even worse. Up there as the worst footballing day this club has had in my time supporting.

No Forest, it's the coach.

You honestly think he is the only problem. I am not defending him at all, far from it. I just think we also have a lot bigger problems at play than a bad coach.

Seems unlikely that one man is solely the problem in a cast of thousands that include premiership players, experienced assistants, an experienced coach, the best fitness guy in the business and so on. I don't know what the problem is though, so I can understand why people just give up trying to work it out and just put a bullet in the coach.

Sorry Forest - it is the coach (and some of the other coaching and non-coaching staff). Last year the players were blamed, we had a big turn over, and here we go again.

Perhaps we should look outside our shell and ask what Hinkley did at Port in only a few months to at least have them playing a good style of football - they will face tougher opponents and lose, but at least they are on a good development path, in contrast to our own!

do people really think its the coach?

how many coaches do these players want to kill before the penny drops and they realise they dont have a long time in this game.

these blokes really need to pull their heads out of their arses and start having a real crack on the field because the coach cant teach application

Denis Pagan

Maybe that's a joke but after reports that there was a confident happy air about training yesterday and then seeing no improvement at the MCG today....

At least he wouldn't [censored] down my back and tell me it's raining.

It is the coach. The alarm bells came with the overly tough talk at the start. Get Roos.

Tinkerbelle would do no worse!

I don't give a stuff if you think Roos is a [censored]. He gets players buying in. Neeld has not done this.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
