Cheers, heard a bit of mail that Clark may take a while until he is 100%. Same for Trengove.

Some big calls having to be made re keepers. I've had to throw Leuenberger, Hurley and a couple of others guns back into the draft pool. There'll be something for everyone in the first few rounds of the draft at least.

Agree on the big Keeper calls

I am throwing back : Nick Riewaldt, Heath Shaw, Shane Mumford, Travis Boak, Dayne Zorko, James Kelly & David Mundy.

How the hell didn't I win the flag with that line up?

Tbh I thought you should've won OMR. I don't think the points system we had in place reflected the true strength of sides.

Did we decide which points system we were going with?

I'm happy with whatever.

Does anyone have any objection to ...

Kicks - 3

Handballs - 3

Marks - 3

Hit-outs - 2

Tackles - 3

Free Differential - 1

Points Scored - 4

Kicking accuracy - 2

Total - 21 points

I really think this model will work well. It rewards both attacking and defensive set ups (even more so well balanced line-ups) and with the odd number we're guaranteed a winner in each game.

If no-one objects I think we should lock it in place.

What about goals, RR? Or is points scored a total of 4?

This isn't supercoach so I'm not a fan of kick accuracy. Maybe weigh goals at 3 and goal accuracy at 3?

Points scored is 4 Robbo (not just goals) ... so you get a decent return for your forward line's efforts on the day.

Kick accuracy I think is worth two points because you could say it rewards both straight kicking forwards and also quality backlines who force forwards wide to kick from harder angles.

Yeah I don't like score% much.

I'd have it at 1 and free differential at 2.

I don't like free differential at all.

How about the handballs compromise, reducing that stat to 2? That accurately reflects real game stats anyway.

That would mean a set up like this ...

Kicks - 3

Handballs - 2

Marks - 3

Hit-outs - 2

Tackles - 3

Free Differential - 1

Points Scored - 4

Kicking accuracy - 1

Total Points: 19

What do you think? Still get a result with the odd number.

Is Trengove cooked, HT?

I've heard that we will keep hearing from the club that JT (and MC) will be returning early season, but don't expect to see JT until after ~ round 8, 45. Will need more time.

Mitch will do everything possible to return and aim for round one, at this stage it appears unlikely. They will want him @100% first. Which kind of goes without saying in the world of AFL. But they will be extra cautious.

Who are your likely keepers DL7? Need to add to opening post.

Apologies RR, Trent Cotchin and Matthew Priddis are my keepers and Jack Watts is my underage. Ill also have Tom Scully as my other but at the moment it's with a star because I want to see how his NAB Cup goes. Is That okay or do I need to lock in now for good?

I like it, it doesn't guarantee a winner each game, but I do like it!

It changes the way people will draft also

Thanks HT and all. Might wait and see a bit how he's going.

After the trip and starting teaching prep, I haven't had time to follow footy/best XI :o

Well fwiw you're doing a sterling job on Best XI considering your busy schedule. Where was the trip?

Ok, call me a nervous loser but I have decided to go for Grimes over Goddard...

Just in case, er, the worst happens...

And I got rid of Harwood so Thomas Lynch is my last one:

Grimes

Dangerfield

Ziebell

Lynch

I put them into UF just then.

Goddard could be the only clean player there.. He'd be playing all possies by himself racking up touches, hit outs, tackles etc although think he'll struggle to hit a target...

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
