What song should the Demons run out to?

Featured Replies

Seeing as we get a fair number of Sunday games perhaps "Lazy Sunday afternoon"

That would get the boys in to the right frame of mind, all relaxed and drifting away through the game.

Very good Robbie I like it a lot

Do you really want to hurt me? Culture Club

or

Tiptoe through the tulips....Tiny Tim.

Only going on last weeks effort, or lack thereof. ^_^

Not so sure about all other clubs playing other songs before games, Meth Coast & Freo don't. Both have pre game entertainment with Mascots heading around the boundary, before running out to their club songs.

If they win they both play their club songs, before playing

Eagle Rock by Mondo Rock for Meth Coast

TNT by AC/DC for Freo

Not keen on big change but if the club is going down this road Highway to Hell AC/DC would be my choice even though allegedly the song is about a road in Perth (Freo to be exact), think we could take meaning of Hell being hopefully what opposition sides will face on the field once we sort ourselves out

Get you bands correct.

"Eagle Rock" was Daddy Cool - Ross Wilson was in both.

I should know - I clapped hands on "Eagle Rock" !!!

...I'm the one out of time.

I also sang in the chorus for Rick Springfiled's "Speak To The Sky"...that might be a good inspirational song ?????

Perhaps not.

What about "We Can't Be Beaten"?

There again we know that's not true either...

Maybe we stick with Grand Old Flag...for running out and limping off ?

I've tried to stay out of this because the idea of copying something directly out of American culture is more than somewhat cringeworthy.

However, it came to mind that soccer crowds in the UK seem to stir their teams up with some good old numbers like this one -

Only problem is that it sounds good when you've got a packed house at the G but might be a bit flat in front of a few dozen at Skilled Stadium or the Blacktown Showgrounds.

Loved that. Gave me goosebumps. I also liked the idea of holding up the scarf over their heads. Could we do that as they run out on Saturday night. I want to tell them despite last Sunday they still have our support.

On Facebook the club is asking for suggestions on what song should we play as the team runs out, after the club song.

Ill get us started with Hells Bells or Highway to hell ACDC

Also thought of , Action by The Sweet or Heroes. David Bowie.

'Loser' by Beck would just about suffice ,l'm a creep" by Radiohead would be my second choice.

I was just about to make the same suggestion (Loser) when I saw this!

Does my heart good to see people still have their sense of humour in place on the friday after Black Sunday.

Eye of the tiger - RockyIII . Oldy but it still gets the blood pumping during warm-ups pre-match.

That's more for Richmond Don't you think ??

golden years by david bowie.

seriously.

If we were to offer up songs that would express the club's supporter's feelings at the moment, I would dig into the 60's catalogue and drag out:

Over, Under, Sideways, Down - by the Yardbirds

Dazed and Confused - by Led Zeppelin

and for the Casey fans: Crosstown Traffic by Jimi Hendrix

That's more for Richmond Don't you think ??

Yes you're right. I was hoping it might rub off.... ^_^

Always look on the bright side of life

Well, we are being crucified arent we?

I'm Bad by Michael Jackson.

I, I who have Nothing by Ben E. King..

Crying by Roy Orbison.

Will you still love me tomorrow? by the Shirelles.

I just don't know what to do with myself by Dusty Springfield.

I did it my way, obviously sung by Don and Cameron.

White Flag by Dido, if they keep playing like last week

Always look on the bright side of life

Well, we are being crucified arent we?

well if you're going down that path it could be "I like Chinese" in honour of CS

there again i like "Its my Party and I'll cry if I want"

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
