The Filth Delistings today

"Happily take Buckley back" - wow.

They are very light on for ruckmen and I'm surprised they didn't go after Stef Martin when we were negotiating with them for Dawes.

If the aging Jolly goes down, they're really cactus.

Was thinking exactly that when I saw their delistings.

Delist Spencer and get Wood. Rate him much higher.

wood is rubbish compared to spencer

If someone was rubbish compared to Spencer they wouldn't be playing in the AFL. I admit Wood isn't a star but in my opinion he'd do a better job than Spencer as a back up ruckman.

No to all of them. I am still unconvinced about Rodan and he is leaps ahead of all these from the Pies.

And strangely enough, he finds himself not on AFL list. It's a real skill to somehow accidentally argue against your own point.

I remember reading a detailed article by Wisbey comparing the two best ruckmen of the u18 competition at the time: Cameron Wood and John Meesen. Wow.

Whilst holding nothing personal against Jolly, one can only hope that the second half of your sentence comes true.

I haven't looked at their list closely, but is the big Q the only alternative ruckman now?

Hallelujah - will their Golden Boy Bucks under as much pressure as Golden Boy Jimmy at Bummerland? He certainly will be if they drop many rungs on the ladder in 2013.

Nil all draw there.

Brisbane and Adelaide were sold though.

Touche... I do think he'll find a home though and I still think he is a better option than Spencer.

Despite stuffing my argument up there

Isn't this why they went for Lynch? An each way bet on rucking and forward.

Lynch may or may not fit the bill as a forward/ruckman but if Jolly falls over he can't fill the role of #1 ruck. Can anyone imagine him against Cox or Sandilands?

They have Jarrod Witts developing nicely.

Spencer may surprise you, I think he will come on in the next couple of years.

He is a huge unit, and competitive......fantastic if he does (I reckon he will!).

Except their spuds are usually a better standard than our spuds.

Lucky we've got a good Chip then, eh?

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
