When is it announced and could howey get first second and third or is he only allowed one

Winner is done at All-Australian night IIRC.

They have to have the voting though first...

Wonder if it will be leaked beforehand on the AFL website like the rising star.

I will LOL if we get robbed of this stupid award as well.

Watch Nic Nat win it.

Noooooooooo! I couldn't stand it!. One can only imagine the smug, sycophantic post from RR. Something like:

Oh oh! or

Woops! or

A better mark than Jezza (and twice as attractive) - and we opted for a spud who couldn't catch a cold

Howe option 1.

I will not be at all surprised if NN wins it though. Great grab but I'm being cynical.

Posted

Howe's biggest risk is if his votes get split between option 1 and 2

seems posters prefer opt 1 therefore best if everyone sticks to opt 1 even if unsure between 1 & 2

he should get it - I did think though, that nicnacs one handed mark in the goal square in one of the later games was one of the marks of the year, yet is not the one they are going with, strange.

yeah i'm pretty sure i've seen better marks from NN than the one they picked

I voted for mark number 2 for three reasons:

1 He was so high the ball was out of frame in two of the three camera angles

2 He was on top of Martin who is 6 cms taller than Grundy from mark #1

3 He catches the ball with arms fully stretched

IMO it's a better mark

Actually thought that Rioli's mark early in the year (against the filth?, over Shaw?) would be the only threat to Howe's mark against the swans.

I know the mark and goal of the year aren't all that signigicant, but this is a highly flawed voting system.

If it were a 50/50 decision, the Melbourne player wouldn't have a hope against a highly supported club like West Coast. Newton's mark in 2007, wasn't even nominated in his week becasuse he lost to a West Coast player taking a diving mark in the goal square.

Howe has taken the two stand out marks of the year and will probably win, but vote splitting could cost him.

Nothing would surprise me after a season like this......FFS vote Howe 1!

I thought Maynes mark was as good as the R17 one if not better
