The problem in my eyes is that straight out that offensive style footy is too one dimensional, & is readily broken down thru pressure.

So I think we may have gotten to 9th/10th/11th-ish, that would be all & we would have again done what we did under Daniher.

One thing Daniher teams can't be accused of is mid table finishes. No 9thmond there.

So what you're saying is, that Chris Scott actually had a tougher task than Neeld?

Now i've heard it all...

My comment was a general one applied to any business - please think about it for a moment.

When you are at the bottom there is only one way to go and that's up, and vice versa.

The 'law of diminishing returns' also applies - the better you get, the harder it is to get better.

The slate was littered with troubles. He has had to plough through it all.

After the next draft the slate is much closer to being somewhat clean.

I used the term 'clean slate' in the context that Neeld was free to do as he wished - if the team was so bad, there would be no opposition to what he did, at least in the early stages. He would be excused for any actions he took. (The fact that this has not happened may tell you something.)

The first rule is accumulating information. Only from the standpoint of knowledge can you make effective change.

Neeld had been informing himself ( and FD ) with knowledge. The first real opportinity to invoke that which they have gained in terms of knowledge is about to come about.

This will be Neelds slate not a hand me down

I think he has tried to do a lot with the team. The reality is a lot of our list are either not up to it or have not developed enough to be competitive. So he was way behind the 8 ball to start. I judge from October onwards.

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.
