That would keep them from bidding on Viney if true...

When does the bidding for mini draft occurs? Is it before or after the father son bidding?

If it is after as i suspect, then the chance of Gold Coast ruling themselves out of any potential mini draft picks by committing pick 2 to Viney is slim. They will want to keep that asset up their sleeve. This could work in our favor here!

In the end that isnt THE worst scenario, i like the midfielder Couch a bit, although people think Hogan will go pick 2, it is overs for Couch with a pick 4 which i think it would have to be as we cannot give away pick 3 prior to F/S bidding but it will be like getting Viney and Couch for picks 4 and 25 instead of really Viney and pick 25, the value is getting a top 10 prospect type for pick 25 essentially.

The best scenario is still getting Viney at 25 and having free reign at pick s3-4 obviously

Problem is that regardless of doing any deal with gws for u17 and not touching viney, is that we still need to come up with an arrangement with gc.

How about we trade pick 3 to gws for u17 pick and pick 13 to gc for caddy. Gc and gws don't nominate viney.

So assuming puck 1 and 2 are gws whitfield and grundy and gc get martin, we get:

- hogan or crouch u17

- our choice of toumpas or wines or mayes at 4

- caddy at 13

- viney second round

If smart, the GWS wont bid on Viney, leaving us pick 3 - because we will most likely bid for Martin

and it will boast his stocks, Bullies would have to give up their pick 4, another first round pick and maybe more to get him!!

So, GWS leaving us pick 3 probably means that they will get more for Martin - as sides will have to offer a lot to trump us.

I think the side that ends up last wont bid for Viney regardless - as Whitfield is your clear number 1 choice.

Its the second side that will be bidding and they will 100% bid.

I wouldnt be complaining if we ended up second last.
