Scully Banners

Featured Replies

You're not wrong...I hope!

In my opinion the banner should define the MFC values and let these be a mirror to our ex, his father, his suitor and manager........UNITY, LOYALITY, INTEGRITY

+1 (and yes DemonWA, I don't doubt you are probably right...at least, I hope so)

I hope everyone is going to make these banners and take them to the game. Its one thing to post them anonamously and another to take them to the game and own them.

No.1 P_ick!

This has to be made the biggest, boldest and brashest size banner possible with lots of Dees fans around it, and ensure it gets some cameras to focus on it. Absolute pure gold and the best post of 2012, without exception. Lucifer, if you do make it, let us know where you sit and we will crowd around.

"Just down for a look, Tom?"

ED: Apologies to rpfc.... This is a question.

Yeah, that rule is more to do with comedic timing. Rhetorical questions are hard to do in text at the best of times - the punchline has to be evident as the reader will anwser the question in their heads or attempt to follow the question down the path it was intended.

Yours isn't bad, as it takes the MFC supporter to the point at Melbourne Airport when a young simpleton said he was 'just going for a look' and then didn't come back...

But if you don't know that, then the sign is meaningless and just becomes and abstract question.

I like: #1 P_ick

Alternatively, just a single word in very large bolded letters: [censored]!

Might be seen as advertising.

My sign will have something very simple like this

James was a legend,

played every game for the dee's.

He goes to GWS,

to follow his coaching dreams.

Tom was a sick dog,

showed no balls or skills.

He goes to GWS,

to chase 6 million bills.

Actually let just hope the team concentrates on GWS and not let them jump to a lead. We have four quarter to worry about $cully

dont mean to be rude, but thast not 'very simple'

Those intending to have signs/banners that are meant to capture the publics eye and nudge a funny bone or two ought to be very simple, and legible from a fair way off.. Keep in mind if your sitting on the MFC members side there arent too many camera angles that will pick you up.

just remember...KISS

look forward to maybe seeing a few on Sunday.

I only mean't simple as in it being a form of quatrain poetry and straight to the point.

welcome anyways Alias

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

  • PREGAME: Sydney

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
