4 missed targets which have hit essendon players on the chest

Game has been going for about 3 minutes, and I have seen at least 5 of our kicks fall short of their target. Under no pressure. How are our skills sooooo terrible????

Whoever thinks James Sellar should be getting an AFL game is kidding themselves

6 clanger kicking errors. Terrible. Why?

errr...its raining??...maybe???

Garland to half forward??...with no Frawley?

errr...its raining??...maybe???

Disposal has been shyte, but players getting the ball of half-back have nothing on offer.

We do so many round the corner no look kicks to no one

We kick off one step that's our problem, no handball received, no play on and most of all no confidence

Great effort by Bleasey putting his body on the line. Very impressed with the change in the way he goes about his footy.

Not bad 1Q - much better defensively, just need some run and spread to capitalise. The longer we can stay closer to the Bombers, the greater confidence it will give IMO.

Dragged down Essendon to our level I see.

We can't hit a target, and we are lucky Essendon can't hit the scoreboard.

Half arsed sloppy tackling attempts all over the ground, Fletcher on his own in our goal square like some kind of sick joke. Flooding like the good old days because we are so desperate not to get smashed again.

And yet we are not even a goal behind, so well done Neeld. You've managed not to count us out of the contest at quarter time.

Football is utterly [censored] to watch these days.

Well strange 1st quarter, bit of old fashioned flooding it looks, seems the ball has been on Essendons forward line for most of the quarter, yet theyve only kicked 1 goal? Some good defensive work under pressure by the Dees, some good marks from Watts. Oh well 3 pts at 1/4 time.....guess wed take that.

My previous observations on Sylvia have been off the mark- he isn't a rudderless talent, he's just rudderless with no talent. Struggling to see it.

Jack Watts is having a great game. Essendon's innacuracy keeping us in it.

Our disposal is shithouse.

Golly gosht we're in front. Only by luck though

We have driven Essendon completely insane.....3 Goals in a row to THE DEES!!!!

Loving this. I know it's only early days! I know we'll probably be crying soon! I know we dare not dream, but [censored] me this is good so far :)

Great pressure from the boys tonight. Enjoyable to watch. amazing how things come off for them when the stop they flow in the other direction.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
