AFter visiting the MCG twice in recent weeks, listening to informed commentators in the papers and on the telly, and reading the (many) informed comments on here - plus 'ology - I feel that we have become a victim of a serial make-over. That's when a new administration comes in, bringing with it a new administration not to mention a new mantra. The mantra both spoken and unspoken, is that 'we' have all the answers (fitness/ structures/ game plan/ leadership groups etc) whereas 'before', 'they' were doing it wrongly ie 'couldn't believe how unfit they were and 'no game plan' etc

The sudden drop-off of the senior players i don't think has to do with sooking as such but the lack of 'buy-in' and the unwillingness of our senior crew to put their dementia-inducing 'heads over the ball' to get the footy and win the points. if the older players are going to be dumped en masse, frankly davis i can't blame them. As two examples, Moloney and Jones must surely have been retained in some seniority position if only to maintain their footballing honour. those guys have given plenty. Finally, I don't agree with all the Green bashing that goes on. That guy has taken some huge hits in recent years and performed acts of courage which defy belief, he just isn't capable of that any more.

we just don't seem to have the 'backs against the wall' mentality of teams like North. As for 1979, this year is beginning to stink far worse than the end of that decade. And, yes i did stay till the final siren on Saturday despite nearly being sucked up in a vortex of departing dee supporters.

Just on a point of clarification, but Jones is in in the leadership group, and therefore does retain a position of seniority. As to Green and Moloney, they are still senior players, and even without the title should act accordingly.

Alack of buy in is not really that much different to sooking in my books.

I agree that the Green bashing is not a good thing, and he has given a massive amount to the club. I do believe that at this point in the season he still can get back into the team if he finds form.... and that there isn't a 'youth' policy.... yet

Green had something like 16 kicks, 9 handballs and 4 tackles in two games. But if you look at the first halves it is something like 4/3/1.

Woefully out of form and confidence. Great warrior for the club but has to lift, We have no leadership and sadly he is part of the problem.
