Maybe I will understand this more if you explain to me who you think we should be trying to recruit. I expect that you will struggle to come up with some realistic options. I am not saying dont bring in mature bodies but not the expense of using our top picks to overpay for players.

i am not talking using high picks....We must be the most aggressive user of the Free Agency rules this year.

Sorry i missed the link to the article. Was talking about his comments during the game telecast.

We are in agreement then. Based on who is available under free agency who would you target? I dont think there is anyone on the list restricted or unrestricted that fills our need that is a realistic get ie: I dont see Mitchell or Goddard as realistic gets.

I do not have the info to answer that BRFE. That is for the club to sort. But it is what we must try and do. Priority one.

People are starting to turn sour on my club.

Be that right or wrong, it is happening.

People have been sour on our club for some time. Now is not the time to make rash judgements. You stick to the plan that you think is right and if you see an opportunity to accelerate your position then you take it ie: Clark in the previous off season. I trust we will look at all options but I hope we do it with a level head and dont just push change for changes sake. If there is no good mature mid options at the right price in the offseason then you stick the course and keep developing from within.

Agree with that. But our needs are so obvious...i hope the research has already begun.

Matthews also said, they trot out Gary Lyon to do figure head works as well.

He said that a couple of weeks ago. I don't necessarily agree.

Matthews talked about our structural and ball use problems directly after the game yesterday.

Who is mentioning "stop gap??" This old club needs to get out of first gear...recruiting more kids as long term prospects is not what we need.

Interesting that Malthouse made some honest comments about the club, rather damming i heard..Trying to find a Podcast.

Would be interesting if Neeld or Leigh Brown have been chatting?

Its rather savage assessment over the current administration you might not like it.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
