Ottens or David Mundy vs Essendon in Round 14.

Ooze was a great mark and of course we hope he wins. But Mundys was a big mark in a big pack and may just edge him out.

Given that every Geelong supporter I've heard from gave the nod to Yze, I can safely say without bias that Yze is the clear winner.

I thought Petifier from Richmond took some good grabs this year as well but admit it would be good to see Yze win it if only because he took it on that arrogant runt Hunt......

Yze's mark was that much better than Ottens that its not funny.

He went so bloody high up and only had one player to do it over.

I couldnt believe it on the day, I thought it was Robbo.

Oozes is far better tham Ottens... a mark taken recently by Jamar over Simmonds for mine was way better than Ottens...half of Robbos would beat the ottens mark....

but nothing will ever beat Smith's !!! :-)))))) eh Garry ....lol

yze for mark of the year

what a screamer!

OOOOZZEE.........

lets keep them votes comin

Unbbbbbbbelievable oooz focus class talent....

I thought Kane Pettifer aswell

I can't say without bias.

Brian Taylor says it's (Yze's) the MOTY and he is on the voting panel.

My order:

Ottens

Mundy

Yze

Top 5 in order for me would be :

1. Ottens vs Syd

2. Mundy vs Ess

3. Yze vs Geel

4. Pettifer vs Adel

5. Kerr vs Coll

Ottens's mark was taken over Jolly which is no mean feet, Yze's looks better and, for his size, it looks like he's got up into the heaven's, but i have a feeling it'll either be Mundy or Ottens.

Ottens just ahead of Yze.

Those two clear above the rest.

Mundy's was pretty good, some years it would have been enough to win. There's been some great ones this year.

What about robbos mark over joel bowden? That was pretty special!

I think yze will win it, robbo deserves at least a runners up prize gievn the amount of super grabs this season.(give him a toaster)

Agree.

Yze's was good, Mundy's was better but Ottens was a classic over a 200cm perch. Had hang time too.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
