Voss has all the criteria for a good coach except for experience. I too believed that this was a must until I watched him on Footy Classified last night, he has got me, hook, line and sinker. Melbourne would be very silly to miss out on this opportunity, I am not fussed if he is to have one or two years learning the skills and art of being a senior coach and building a team for 3-4 years time because lets face it, our list needs work. He is obviously 100% committed to coaching with admitting he already has assistants, medics etc in place and he demands respect. I would be very disappointed if we miss out on him.

After listening to 3AW whilst at the game and then coming home to watch the replay I am furious and disgusted with the biased commentators who were broadcasting both these media sources. Firstly we have Tony Shaw, never in my life have I heard a more biased commentating effort than from Tony today (even counting the old Eddie days at 9), he was atrocious to the point that I had to stop listening to 3AW. Throughout the game he was constantly criticizing free kicks that Collingwood didnt get payed and kept talking about how good Collingwood were. When he made a point about Rocca clearly being a much better football than Dutchy (or something along those lines) I just switched off. I tried to get onto talk back after the game to complain but couldn't get through. However I then had the pleasure to listen to more Tony Shaw and how he was blaming the umpires and the Robbo free kick for Collingwoods loss and was making such a big damn scene about it all. I then got to watch the replay and sit through Michael Christians equally if not worse biased commentating. He is just shocking, any idiot could tell from the get go he wanted Collingwood to win. I have really had enough, I understand commentators etc have their teams which they support and all but in a professional circumstance, surely we as a viewer deserve more? Commentating in general is a sorry state at the moment, especially on TV. Channel 7 is hopeless minus Dennis who seems to be loosing his spark and 10 have always been well crap. But people like Tony Shaw and Michael Christian just ice the cake.

I was much happier with the boys this week, unlike the last 2 weeks, 22 of the players seemed to be trying and each of them gave a stuff. We didnt have as many players cruising and although only a handful played well, the others did not embarrass themselves completely. Unfortunetly however, the home truths are that we are not a great football side and cannot match it with the best in the comp. Geelong played great football and as Daniher said in his press conference, we couldn't match there skill. The funny thing is we looked alright around the ground and smashed Geelong in center clearances. The problem lies with the fact your two key fowards are out (we only had 4 or 5 marks inside 50) and our defence is yet again, the key to our problems. For the third week in a row, Carrol got beaten by his player and although you could say it was the delivery into there forward line, its not good enough. Our skills are terrible, I just sat there amazed at the amount of turnovers we had. We never kick to a players advantage and Brad Miller is lucky to get one kick to his chest each game. Countless times today we just had nothing to kick to, no one presenting but Brad Miller but it seems that the Dees do not like to kick to him. That boy presents every damn time we have the footy and only ever gets it a quarter or so of the time and when he does get it kicked to him its nice and high for the defender to punch it away. Green was good at full-forward and why he hasn't been played up forward for the past few seasons just astounds me. Bruce was solid again and I did notice an improvement in his kicking. Moloney was great and is a key to our side in the future, if it is true about his injuries then we are in real trouble. We have been building a side for ages and if this is the outcome to the past few years of building then I seriously begin to question what the hell the matter is with the Dees. This is clearly Danihers last year and hopefully we get some new blood, a good gameplan and a team that respects there coach for being a coach and not their best friend. It wasnt all doom and gloom today, as I said earlier, you couldn't question the players commitment and will-power but unfortuently in football, to be a good team, you need more than that. This could be a very long few weeks until we get some of our injured players back but I am now starting to ask myself: Will they really make a huge difference? The past 3 games could be the indication of a very long season but lets hope not.

Yze's mark was that much better than Ottens that its not funny. He went so bloody high up and only had one player to do it over. I couldnt believe it on the day, I thought it was Robbo.

Chris Tarrant- he has had one good year in 8 seasons and is classified as one of the best fowards in the competition. What a joke! He cannot mark or kick and he plays for Collingwood.
