Membership seating question

This is my first year as a member, for reasons to do with proximity to the G' and finances.

In any case, I am on board this year and will be going to the game on Saturday.

I will be, however, taking two non-members with me. I do hope to talk them into a membership, but that is besides the point at the moment.

1) I just wanted to confirm that I can use my membership to get into the game for free but still sit in a general admission area.

2) It is a basic membership package, so I also wanted to know which members' areas this got me into, and which it didn't (e.g., reserved setting).

3) Also, where is the "best" (subjective I know) place to sit for members? I've always (as a general admission) sat on the 3rd level directly behind the goals, which is a great view point. However, as I can access member only areas, wanted to get a feel for the best spots (even if I won't utilise them this week).

yeah membership gets you in for free. I'm a reserved seat member but I'm pretty sure the basic membership gets you into level 3 for free.

Samsara, to add to CFH comments general admission will also allow you to sit on the bottom level of the G behind the cheer squads (ours at the Punt Road end for home games) and also towards the pockets. I have occasionally sat on the bottom level of the Olympic Stand when I've taken friends and not been able to use my reserved seat. I suppose it's a matter of if you want to sit up high or not?

Thanks for all the responses, they are appreciated.

I will probably sit up in the normal spot behind the goals on the 2nd (or is it 3rd?) level.

When I go to Melbourne v. W.B, I will only be with another member so I will arrive early to scope out the other seating.

Just be aware, if you have just a general membership (i.e. you haven't paid extra for a reserved seat) you don't get into a "members area" like we did in the red seats in the old Olympic Stand in the old days. The cheapest membership will only get you into the ground, you will have to sit in General Admission seats (generally the Ponsford Stand or the Punt Road end in the pockets or behind the goals depending on who we play.

Just another opinion, but my favourite spot is Q49 - Q51 of the Olympic stand (as close to the front as possible).

Seating is right on the wing, just to the left of the MCC and right behind the interchange.

If you prefer sitting in the shade rather than having the sun in your eyes, then it is much better than the Great Southern.

Only downside of that though is it can sometimes get a bit chilly!

Being a newer stand it is also much cleaner than Great Southern and I could swear the seating has more leg room.

Also very convenient escalators which take you all the way to the top!

Just be aware, if you have just a general membership (i.e. you haven't paid extra for a reserved seat) you don't get into a "members area"

Indeed. A standard membership just gives general admission entry entitlements plus the member perks (voting rights, scarf, etc).

Looks like my membership only entitles me to sit in general admission anyway. Doesn't bother me, as long as I have a seat and can watch the Demons have a win, I'm happy.

mfc's uncovered reserve seating is a cheap deal compared to other clubs

its about $50. I got a seat about 5metres east of members just on the roof line. if it rains i quickly move back under cover (always spare seats)

and you get to sit with mfc only supporters
