Yeah I'm tipping a few huge bags against the likes of Brissy, GC and GWS! Oh how id love to see 10 big ones against little Tommy boy's mob!

I just read little Tommy $cully won the latest time trial for GW$. 3k in 9.37.

So much for a dodgy knee. Interesting...

Funny how so many people think Clark when the most goals he has kicked in a season is 27. He's only kicked 61 in his entire career. I know he hasnt spent a heap of time forward, but big calls... wouldnt mind if it comes true though :-)

I think depending on how they line up it has to be between Green (surely he doesnt have another season in him like 2011?!), Watts (looking great in preseason and added more muscle to his frame) and Jurrah (freak). But isnt it great to also have people like Howe, Petterd, Dunn, Sylvia, Jamar, Martin, Bate etc to put pressure on getting a spot in the forward line and/or to float in and out. Then we also have a few development/speculative forwards to add to the mix. Of course there is also plenty of improvement to be had with nearly all forwards but Green.

I think our backline has been good for a couple of years now, the forward line seems to be coming together nicely. Hopefully the mids can take a big leap forward and young Viney gets some experience in the VFL this year.

Bring on Round One already!

i can see a real good spread of goals this year, don't think anyone will kick many more than 40-50...

the introduction of new recruit clark along with the development of tommy mc and watts as well as howe as genuine marking targets means that likes of petterd and jurrah will be able to run circles around the opposition number 4 defender instead of the best the opponent has.

the best part of this situation is that when they cycle their better defenders it just means that the other guys then have an easier run at the goal line.

think we have a forward line to get us into the bottom of the 8 this year, with a genuine strike timed for 2013-2016 when the midfield comes together

Haha, yeah... and even funnier is the fact that I removed Petterd who I had with 25 - 30 along with Davey. But fantasies aside, I am a little surprised that no-one seems to be picking Davey to make a reasonable contribution.

Hopefully see flash return to the foward line and pick up a few this year but hope he dosnt lead our goal kicking... I think Green in a return to a lead up full foward type like 2011 and kick 60 odd but its good that there is so many to share the burden,

gone are the days of Tony Lockett and such, I wonder now if anyone can ever beat his record?

I think Clark spending a full season up forward could snag plenty. A big clunker like him with today's forward friendly rules would love it. Just gotta get the ball down there. So I'll go Clark with 70.

If Green is our highest with 50, I'll be disappointed. Good for him, but we need new avenues to goal.

Clark 42 - he'll have to play CHF as well which will hinder his tally. Green 35, Jurrah 35, Watts 29, Sylvia 25, Howe 23, Davey 18, Petterd 16, Martin 14.

The question for Neeld will be how does he mix goal kicking power with the ability to get the ball in the forward line, the ability to keep it their and the needs of the midfield so they can run both ways.

We'd all love this forward line to run out:

HF: Howe Watts Sylvia

FF: Jurrah Clark Green

Int: Davey, Petterd, Martin

But we have to factor in injuries and also balance to make sure we've got the rotations so I'd say at least one of Howe, Jurrah, Green and Petterd would battle to get a game if everyone is fully fit. The ability to rotate through the midfield and apply forward pressure is so vital and hence Sylvia, Davey and to an extend Petterd has the advantage here.

who could guess? we have a good dozen players that are likely to make a dent in the scoreboard, a few of whom have the genuine chance of topping 50, and we have a new coaching team who are undoubtedly cooking up all sorts of surprises for us

here's a question - when was the last time someone wearing red and blue kicked 10 goals in a match? I know Neita never got past 9, would it have been Wako Jako?

3k in 9.7. I thought Usain Bolt was quick .

Just wait till he gets a knock on the knee during the year .

Now that'll be interesting .

Jack Watts, 65 goals plus.........it's just his time

Green with 40

Jurrrah with 30

Clark with 20

Howe with 15

Watts with 25+ (depends on how/where he is played)

Davey with 18

Sylvia averages a goal a game so he must be up for 20 as well.

I think Green will thrive with clark, watts and Jurrah taking all the heat from the opposition.

Ricky bob may just do the same as well but the question mark is how does he get the opportunity, put him down for 12.

Dunn?

I think Green will struggle because he'll no longer be a major target in the forward line.

I've not looked at stats, but my general feel is that few of Green's goals come from general play - most come from a lead, mark and set shot.

I think we'll be kicking long to tall targets frequently, limiting his ability to impact on the scoreboard.

I might be wrong, but I don't think of Green as a particularly adept crumber.

Don't over do it O.D. Remember to wake up tomorrow!

You will pleased to know ( well I hope you will ) that I have added one more to my total wyl.

The 13 was great last night we beat the Pies by 8 goals, the faithful were singing all the last quarter.

Eddy resigned as Chairman after the game saying Buckly should follow him.

Trengrove won the NS medal

Green kicked 5 goals in his last game

Watts kicked 5 as well.

and the bull broke swans jaw in a fearsome collision just before quarter time.

Hell then I woke up and it was only the 12th Jan 2012.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
