No, but I might take a look, layz

Just watched the 1st episode of 'The Old Man' starring Jeff Bridges & John Lithgow and I'm hooked already ... Action/Mystery/Thriller

The 2nd series of 'Only Murders in the Building' is out ... it's a lot of fun esp if one likes Steve Martin & Marty Short

Worth the time Macca, very easy to get into and go along for the ride.

Scene previews for The Old Man and I'd love to give it a go. Heard it took a while to make because Jeff had the cancer scare during filming.

And Only Murders In The Building looks like a good watch too. That's on Disney yeah? I've only got Netflix and Prime so I've spread myself a bit thin!

The documentary is fantastic. Inside the legal team bunker during the running of the hearing is rarely seen. Very interesting viewing and a few twists along the way. Loved it.

I think that's what I like the most about it and to have been doing this around 2001-2003 would have been well ahead of its time. 6 eps in, can't stop watching!

I was very surprised and loved how much of the legal team meetings and strategies were put to air. Enthralling viewing. Enjoy a long night ahead lol.

One of the better and more interesting music documentaries is now showing on Netflix… Gurrumul.  I cannot recommend this highly enough!

Also pleased to see there are new series of What We Do in the Shadows and Succession available and coming, respectively on Foxtel.

I love Succession because it is one of the only shows I’ve ever seen in which every single character has absolutely no redeeming features.

What We Do in the Shadows is simply Taika Waititi magic.

The 4th season of Babylon Berlin has been released (about a month ago) ... haven't seen any of the 12 episodes as yet but by all accounts, a very strong season maintaining it's high standards

I will have a look on netflix because that is a great show. Did not know they were making one.

Without giving too much away the show has entered the Nazi era.  Only 2 eps in but it will be fascinating as to how they deal with that.

Dark times but the show was always heading in that direction

@Ethan Tremblay @Maccabeen a while since I visited this thread. Black Mirror was a great recommendation, well and truly hooked...cheers fellas. "Metalhead" was probably my fav episode amongst some very good episodes, don't think I took a breath the whole time.

@hardtack Hellbound was excellent. South Korea have some really great shows on Netflix.

Binged a bit over the holidays, came across a series called Slow Horses (spy thriller) on Apple TV. Gary Oldman is very good in it I thought and the comedy is gold.

I haven't tried Black Mirror yet which is surprising because that would be right up my alley. Would like to see Slow Horses but I've only got Netflix and Prime!

Slow Horses was good, Gary Oldman most definitely was the standout. His character was just so gross (and agree, also comedy gold).

The only other series that have really kept my interest lately are Yellowstone, 1923 (prequel to Yellowstone) and Your Honour. I’m also looking forward to Succession returning, one of my all time favourites.

Don't know if it's been mentioned but Westworld was great, for those DnD fans out there Vox Machina is awesome, made by the critical roll guys, so much don't have the time to post them all.

I liked Westworld, although I thought the final season was a bit weak.  The series' I've been enjoying lately are:

His Dark Materials Season 3 (Foxtel) - all three seasons have given an excellent interpretation of the three books in the trilogy.
Cunk on Earth (NetFlix) - very funny mocumentary in which genuine historians etc are interviewed to lend credence to Cunks views.
The Last Of Us (Foxtel) - based on the video game the action takes place in a dystopian post apocalyptic world; I was a bit dubious at first, but so far, having watched the first 4 episodes, this is a brilliant show!
Wednesday (NetFlix) - a very enjoyable series based around Wednesday Addams from the Addams Family; typical Tim Burton stuff.
Raised By Wolves (Foxtel) - started off really well, but then they pulled the plug on it at the end of season 2, with so much left unresolved.
War Of the Worlds (SBS On Demand) - all three seasons are fantastic!

Dark (NetFlix) - another that started off really well, but by the final season had gotten itself so mixed up in its parallel universes, that it could only ultimately disappoint.

1899 (NetFlix) - same team as made Dark, but this is a much better series involving time shifts.

A Spy Among Friends looks the goods.  Set in the cold war 60's centering around Kim Philby

Stars two of my favourites ... Guy Pearce & Damian Lewis.  Anna Maxwell also stars in the show and is very good

I’ve been a bit remiss with my TV show watching of late. I did however, make a very late start on Kim’s Convenience on Foxtel. I love it. It’s full of quirky characters and is presented as a series of moments during each day. Roughly edited but entirely charming. It concerns a convenience store run by a Korean family in Toronto in Canada.

I have watched a couple of Star Wars related series on the Disney Channel including the Mandelorian (very good) and Andor which was fabulous!

Anyone finish Succession? Also recently finished Dark Winds, can also recommend this one (two seasons out now).
I recently signed up for ‘Binge’ again as they had a $2 per month for three months deal. It’s the version with ads but there isn’t many at all.

I have finally got around to watching Lupin on Netflix, and now I’m kicking myself for leaving it so long! This is seriously one of the best shows I’ve had the pleasure of watching… ever!! Brilliantly acted with Omar Sy from the film Intouchables in the lead role, incredibly well scripted, it’s the TV equivalent to a page turner!
I’ve watched this first two seasons in two days and will watch the third and most recent tomorrow and am already feeling sad that I’ll be up to date because that means I know I’ll have a long wait for the next season. If you haven’t already seen this, I urge you to do so now… you will NOT be disappointed!!

Thanks HT.. I’m currently looking for a new show to Binge and this will now be it. I have to admit, I’ve seen Lupin when scrolling through before but for some reason, never looked into it. Cheers.

If you have Foxtel there’s now a second season of Julia, which I also highly recommend. It’s based around the TV cooking show host Julia Child. Really well written and cast, it’s a really enjoyable and entertaining show.

I gotta say I was really into Succession and got up to the last season but never finished it. No real reason but I'm not much of a binge TV watcher and something else probably came up which made me forget. Worth finishing?

I thought it was definitely worth seeing through… the final season was probably the weakest, but it still rates as one of the best shows thanks to it consistently being above average.

If you have Netflix and haven’t already been watching, Kim’s Convenience is a terrific series that’s been running for maybe 5 seasons, each of 10 episodes (I think it is).

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
