Green captain of Australia?

As if this hybrid game wasn't already a joke. I'm a supporter of Green and congrats to him getting the captaincy nod, but seriously he was not a good captain this year.

Time was this was meant to be near to the best Aussie players vs the best the Irish had to offer, now they've got kids coming in, a small handful of AA nominations, and Green, who's probably only in there because he tried out for Man U as a kid, as captain.

The players have shown how they see this game, how are we meant to get behind it?

Your barely allowed to tackle in this game. It should suit a 'Green', down to the Pitch!

He's pretty, good with the odd round ball.

This must be the worst time of the footy calender. Between the trade period and the draft.

I've just spent the last hour downloading 60's TV themes. 'Sea Hunt', to, 'Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea'.

Geex, there was some good stuff in there.

I don't know if anyone's noticed Eade's comments on Green in the Herald Sun

Coach Rodney Eade said Green was a unanimous choice.

"I think Brad's experience at the game is one (reason)," Eade said. "Two, he's obviously captain of an AFL club and has done that exceptionally well.

"And then you can see the rapport he's got with the players as well - his communication skills are terrific."

Post season we've heard from a few of the players praising Green's leadership. But it's also nice to hear that same priase from some outside the club.

I wouldn't expect Eade to say anything else. Would anyone else expect otherwise ?

He's right about Brad's experience at International Rules and being a captain of an AFL club. That would have helped getting the skipper of Australia gig.

I am sure Brad is rapt to be Captain...And Good Luck to Him.....BUT if he or Chippa get injured playing this Game i will be mighty pi$$ed orf.

My Beef is with The AFL for actually having this meaningless series.....The elite of the AFL have quietly said no....i wish that was the case with our Boys...

But if you wish to watch the game friday night, by all means do so,,,,I will be at the Movies...Footy season is over..Time to recharge the Batteries.

Yep, can empathise with you there. Personally, I like the fact it goes on, but definitely see your point. If Trenners does a knee or something it will be awful. Just think the 'embarrassing' part of the thread was a bit strong.

Looking forward to next season big time. Can't wait for the banter.

Regards, Baz

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
