I'm guessing we might announce a sponsor Friday sometime on the eve our Round 1 NAB Cup!

If it's China Southern it's all good!

I flew with them from Tokyo to Shangai and they did a fantastic job getting us there safely considering we flew through a major storm across the ocean in the dead of the night. It was an adrenalin flight for myself, but for the 99% of passengers I think they [censored] themselves or spewed up.

Makes Emirates look like a hobby . Now why did we waste our time in China again?

IF China Southern are the new sponsors it is an exact repeat of the situation when Collingwood took on Emirates. Their schedules, network and financial performance has increased substantially since, and Collingwood have paired that success to their advantage.

I think CSN is up to 2 services per day to Melbourne already. ( see if you can find a Qantas service to China from Melbourne)

Their market is 1 Billion people in their home country alone, leave alone the rest of Asia.

CSN as our sponsor would be a dream come true........

WYL you seem to be good with the china connection do you think we should push to play games for points over there to help our membership in the large chinese community here in melbourne? It could really boost our numbers if we land a chinese FOJ and play there.

I think in your business management 101 course that you obviously failed, you overlooked the subject concerning branding. Along the lines of if you lay with dogs you'll get fleas.

We are hardly desperate enough to take a deal from just anyone because they have the money. We need to have a brand worthy of it's place along side the MFC.

I don't recollect the AFL brand ever being harmed by their association with Ansett whilst it overshot runways, collapsed nose wheels and went broke in the early noughties.

Yet, you're apparently happy with Energy Watch who were being pursued by the ACCC! Pfft!

Interesting as i have just read up on China Southern over the last hour.....It is also the fourth-largest airline in the world in domestic passenger traffic and the sixth-largest in scheduled domestic passenger-kilometres flown

The china market is beyond huge. If we played one game a year over there, and the supporters all got together at a venue to support, i wouldn't mind. Better than Darwin mate.

This sponsorship if it comes of will be the biggest coup in 50 years. Most airlines are struggling right now. This one is growing rapidly.

Yes this will be a big part of the puzzel for future flags if we get this right as we all know you need money to compete

The club must repay the supporters who have all dug deep since 2008 and i think it knows it. This sponsorship if it coomes off could open some big doors.

So If Jetstar was toput up the money wed all say YES PLEASE !! . China Southern isnt a lot different and makes Jetstar look like some Weekend Mum and Dad outfit.

Lets not get too carried away with our own import...They could be lookiig at us and saying exactly the same thing....I mean...we last won silverware when???

Nobody knew of LG when they came here,nor Samsung for that matter. Hyundai was laughed at.

Quite frankly I cant see why anyone gets excited about Qantas these days.. very ordinary outfit.

I know there is glass half full, but some are just delusional.

Melbourne is heading into the season without a FOJ sponsor. Nothing to be happy about in this thread.

Wow you are on fire again. I don't think you will have too many fans for saying that having reach on the jumper is a bad thing.

Can see why you are worried but really for all the work jim has done and all the great work reach has done this is a great thing for the club to do for helping a great charity like this we will land our big fish soon until then im very proud to see our jumper with a logo that really is special and if anyone wants a jumper they are selling this at the demon shop i love it.

Correction... Melbourne is heading into the NAB Cup without an FOJ sponsor! I am very happy that they have chosen to donate the space to Reach for the duration of the NAB Cup campaign and as a bonus, supporters can purchase what is, in effect, a limited edition/collector's item (do the takings go to the foundation?) and then in season proper they will be able to purchase a regular jumper with, hopefully, China Southern emblazoned on the FOJ!

I know it's a tired old cliche, but it appears that for some, MFCCS is striking early this year.

IF we are unable to get a jumper sponsor by NAB cup, we should slap the Reach Foundation Logo on the front of the jumper, as a token of appreciation for all that Jim has given to the club. A way to say thanks. Then they could sell the jumpers and give the money back to Reach.

Looks like Cameron wasnt the first to have the idea about using the Reach logo. hrrrm. I guess he still reads the site, be nice if he commented on the actual FOJ sponsor. In any event, nice initiative. Not sure the idea was borrowed from FC Barcelona though as he suggests in the HUN. The master of spin is CS.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

    Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.
