Jesse White

I know there is alot of you out there who don't like Jesse White, but the guy would be the perfect fit for us.

- Full Forward

- Young

- Strong

- Fast

- Aggressive

- Not out of reach

I seriously think we should trade for him, apparently he wasnt too happy at the Swans earlier this year, may have changed now he is in their best 22 but I would give a Morton + a pick for him.

I WANT HIM IN THE RED AND BLUE

Everyone always talks about trading Morton and a pick, but none of you understand Morton aint no sweetner. The Swans would laugh at Morton. They play tough football and on that he will never get a game.

And no on White. I'd prefer to wait for Cook.

Bugger White. Go get Gary Rohan. Absolute excitement machine and potential game breaker.

Morton would not get a kick in a swans team, why would they want him??

Dreaming is fun though.demon_cool.gif

Think this should be in the 'Finding Another Jack Trengove' board.

Are you kidding? Morton is exactly the type the Swans would go for. The kid clearly has talent. As frustrating a player as he is, you still see some very good things from time to time. He has not been playing in the one role for us and this has likely unsettled him.

The swans have and amazing record for getting the best out of their recycled players. I'd bet they could do so with Morton. Hell, I'm betting our new coach will be able to.

I'm not saying they'd give up gold for him, but I'm certain that they'd be interested in him, for the right trade.

In any event, I hope we hold onto him. I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I think with a new (experienced) coach coming in, he might turn the corner.

Is he the perfect fit for us because he is mediocre like half our list?

You also forgot to the two most important "can't take marks" and "doesn't kick goals". Next please.

Totally agree. The Swans will turn Morton into their next Goodes. Cannot believe the bagging of Morton on this site. He is still clearly in a development stage of his career.

I thought Morton would be perfect in the HBF factory that is Sydney.

They just churn them out.

Shaw, Mattner, Kennelly, Malceski, etc.

Morton's long kicking out of the back half would be damaging on the SCG.

Would prefer to sign a guy called Steph Martin! Jesse White might be all of those things, but for me Steph Martin is the tall, young, strong, fast, aggressive player we need to sign. Oh, and he can ruck a bit which seems handy in this new world order for football.

There will always be a Jesse White type forward available, but quality tall utility players are a little harder to come by.

Ok,

Stef Martin has the athletisim, the ruck work, and the build to be a good player. I think he will be a handy back up ruckman, part time forward and hole filler for the backline. However, he does not have the aggression or body movement of a power forward, and I doubt he will.

If you watch the way Jesse White, a 22 year old, 100 kg, 196 cm power forward moves around the ground, you can see he is not far away from being a star.

What does he need?

To be the focal point of a young developing team.

I have watched a number of his games, where he has played more of a link up style rather then out and out FF. Sydney don't use him as much because of Sam Reid and Goodes demanding alot of the pill. I think they dont value him TOO much, so he is stealable.

For all those people who say Morton wouldn't be acceptable, your wrong, he is the perfect sydney mould. They would see his potential and make him work extra hard for it. I think Cale has the potential to be good, but maybe at the MFC he wont get there.

Not interested.

You've been watching too many James Boags advertisements, Ron. ;)

He's 21.

Didn't look like that last Saturday night.

Needs to show something next year. Will be 22 in his 5th season. Has to take the next step.

I would throw a lot at the swans to get him. reckon he is more talented than Dawes and just as big.

We absolutely need a big body up forward and release Watts, Jurrah to play roaming marking roles. Swans would ask a fair bit but these are the blokes you need in finals.

We have to start recruiting big guys and sorry I just don't see Cook being stronger than Watts will be.

if we don't get a coule of biggers bodies in it is going to be another long year of frustration where our structure falls appart against the bigger sides.

FFS MFC stop recruiting bodies like Cook, Morton. we need bigger players.

What do people think of Lewis Johnston from sydney?

20 year key forward and pick 12 in 08 draft. I seem to remember reading that we were hoping he would slide through to our priority pick. Can't seem to crack a game having only played twice this year so he will probably be looking for more opportunities else where (*unsure of contract status, but that doesn't seem to matter these days). Although maybe it's a bad sign that he hasn't been able to string more games together. I haven't seen him play at AFL level, is anyone able to shed any light of what type of player he might develop into, i.e. stay at home or lead up?

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
