Tom Scully in September ...

Hmmm

Holding my tounge!

That made me feel sick!

Turns out that the priority pick was actually an insurance pick. At least we got another bite of the cherry with Trengove. Given we fleeced Carlton with the McLean deal, we’ve gone from winning to maybe breaking even out of that draft. Depending on what we do with compensation picks, it could still end up being a win.

Spot on.

Interesting to note that your profile is a new one that was only created yesterday? If I was the admin on this site, I would be looking at a more permanent ban.

I thought it was only in China that they lock up dissidents?

Better send me over there then.

Careful though ... I might come back early :P

Favourite team is Barcelona in Fifa.......just happen to be red and blue.......thanks Tom!

Was that Youtube video uploaded yesterday?

No, today. Looking to further the conspiracy?

That made me feel sick!

That was funny but not as funny as Scully and his old man traipsing around the Tullamarine Airport making dicks of themselves denying that the decision already had been made.

No-one banned me. You assume wrong about that.

Technical glitch.

Is there somebody close to wear this footage was taken?

Can you check out how long the grass is in the background? I want to see if this was done today or months ago..

They just said on SEN that the big reason aprt from money was that Scully was very unimpressed with the professionalism at the club.

Bailey said on the weekend that Scully came to him on a number of occassions concerned about the actions of certain players??

On the China trip he came home early because he was digusted with the antics of players on that trip.

What was it??? Drinking, drugs, who knows im sure it will come out soon enough.

Lets see how he goes with a gaggle of youngsters on top coin.

This is what I feared. Say it's about the money Tom!

Yeah, and a bunch of 18/19/20 year olds living together with way too much money is going to be better.

Doesn't matter which club he is at, they are always going to go crazy once the season ends.

I have been biting my tongue, but considering I was being told this was going to happen well before the rumors started (source, ok so it was 3 steps removed... make of it what you will) late last year, all I can say is "thank god" now we can get over the issue and move on.

p.s: "degenerative knee" hmmmmmmmmm

Are you saying his knee is a farce as well!!

For all those of you who shat on The Ox's reputation throughout the season, here's some footage of a 100% bonafide Melbourne champ:

Back about..a whole lot of posts I described two types of players for this modern era. One values the jumper and the other is new era , non specific allegiance player who dons a jumper and plays for it. But its never part of his soul. Trengove is the former, Scully the latter.. Scully's whole demeanor was always exhibiting the latter..

You wouldnt have gone. Have no doubt. You like myself I suspect, have values that reach into an older time. I dont begrudge Tom for his decision.Probably quite smart in many ways. I seriously think GWS will be dudded ( cruelled that is ).

You re right in suggesting we need a Malthouse or Lyon...or someone of that ilk.We need their values.

Well said.

I do take comfort in having Trengove and I hope he can drive us to where we want to go.

I can feel the leather boot coming again, and why not, we just lost watsisname(good luck up there), now all the innuendo about why we lost him and who's, or our professionalism (culture) to blame.............sticking a big leatherbound book down the back a my pants.........beware some of the sh...t will hurt when it's the truth I fear

Hey Rpfc ... how's the serenity?

You won't get the double meaning of that unless you've seen The Castle.

In fact .... nah even then you probably won't get it.

when he plays with a bunch of youngsters who may not win a game next year, let's see how they go when they want to let off a bit of steam.

Gold coast have an impressive list of youngsters and Ablett, but it remains to be seen what GWS will look like. At present it looks like Ward and Scully will be their best midfielders, which gold coast should beat easily.

... listening to SEN.

So, it's a 6 yr deal. I guess the bigger the deal the better the compensation is for us (given it is based on his contract, the pick he was drafted, and his age)

Really can't see how AFL could not offer the same compensation as Geelong got for Ablett (I don't think he is worth the same as Ablett, but the compensation rules have already been set last year.)

Glad its all over but still feel gutted.

My 11 year old son loved Scully and we were both excited when we drafted him, i kept saying to him back then that Scully will be the next Judd.

Now he is gone....I guess my son has learned that loyalty means nothing its just a business..and not to take footy too seriously.

When he left for school this morning he was genuinley distressed.

I hate this whole nasty business.

Will always love the Dee's but this year has been very dificult to deal with.

Wounds for licking

Fat lady’s up and singing

Clock stops

Balloons pop

Many supporters hearts a'flop

Clock will wind

And we’ll find

Clouds really are silver lined

Clock ticking

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
