I do love the logic that bringing his parents with him is a sign that he's going. I'm sure that Dermie has never asked anyone's advice about anything in his life. Personally, I still listen to my parents' advice on big decisions because amazingly enough they know lots of stuff and have some really good insights. That doesn't mean that I let them make the decision, but it's always good to have another opinion to help sort out your thoughts.

I wonder what people are making of the fact that he only had a carry-on bag with him. Does this mean he's signing with Melbourne because he didn't have enough luggage, or does it mean that he's getting so much money from GWS that he can buy clothing up there?

I guess it's just too much of a stretch for some people to think that he's doing exactly what he said and is going up there look around and chat to the coaches. Hell, maybe he's bringing his parents along because it's a huge decision and he'd like their input. That's a stretch. Perhaps, rather than assuming that he's already decided to leave and is just covering his ass, we could assume that he really wants to stay and is thinking that they'll have to show him something pretty special to change his mind. Maybe his manager (who stands to make a great deal more money out of GWS than Melbourne) has urged him to head up and take a look before he signs with Melbourne, just in case.

Yes folks, this is speculation on my part. It fits the evidence before us just as neatly as the speculation being indulged in by everyone else on here, including the "it's patently obvious that he has already decided to leave" crowd. Once again, we don't know. None of us do. Screaming at each other, frothing at the mouth, beating ourselves about the head with inflatable bladders or sitting in clock towers at lunch time will not change this fact and will not have any impact on which way Tom leaps. I will however declare that correcting monumentally poor grammar is still acceptable.

As a 19/20 year old young colt, making a trek to tour facilities of a whole new club and it's unfamiliar surrounds would be a big thing, daunting being a 19/20yo. Especially under the microscope of the AFL and it's media contingent. It's been mentioned here TS is a different cat and has strong family as support. And I believe we have witnessed that. It's a big 'decision'. And for the record, TS has stated again - he has not signed. Just for clarity...

I think the laughs and ignorant (toughen up princess, grow some balls) views re: that his family is there for TS's support and it's 'all a show' are somewhat misplaced. It's clear the emotion is all a little too much for some.

Not that there is anything wrong with that....

Lol...anyone would think this is EOW stuff...ffs..

Just a bit of good old fashioned subtefuge.

He'll go we'll get something.. Season 2012 will be upon us and teh grass wil still be green.

Anyone who lumps their happiness upon the fortunes of a club, or more particularly the inclusion of this player or that really needs to get a grip

A sportsperson is upping and going for a sh!t load of money. How novel. This player hasnt really done much for us and Im sure well cope with his vacating just dandy.

Lifes full of little disappointments.

The waiting is nearly over.-_-

It ain't over till the fat lady sings BZB59!

Thanks for the song but Scully is not some cheap hooker whether he goes or stays. He's just a kid with talent and a big decision to make.

The media may yet be all wrong on this and if they are right, then at least part of his decision may be to escape the hacks that write our sports pages down here for less fame and less hassle with the Suns.

If anyone is setting up the Scullys to look cheap and tacky it's the GWS Giants. While Tom and his father face the cameras and tell Hutchy he hasn't made up his mind and he's only having a look around, the media are reporting that GWS officials have an in principle agreement.

Well, if that's the case then what are they telling us about the player and his father?

To get an idea of where we might al be in the not too distant future just look sideways to Basketball. Yes some are loyal in their manner ( some quite deeply) to a club. Many and now the most are journeymen in the main. . NRL isnt that much different. EPL is all but totally that bar a few here and there, but THEY are the exceptions not teh norm.

It all didnt get that way overnight. Indeed some change was all but imperceivable of time. The more it got commercial and professional ( note the importance I place by order) the more mercenary and indifferent it all becomes.

Many might be tempted to get narky and disgusted by it all and seek to vent but before you do ask yourself whos actually been dudded here. You, the club, the players, the game ? And then ask by whom.

For mine the culprit is the AFL, and by that those charged with its safekeeping and health. In an almost distasteful rush to man the barricades of a fort not particualry under threat the game is being wedded shotgun like to a model that is diametrically opposite to the values that steep its founding constituents. The heritage that bore this game upheld certain values and these are being cast aside in haste to supposedly galvanise a code against all comers. At what expense ? Who's expense ? I suspect the games 'common' supporter.

Strangely and ironically there is a fork in the road. There will come most likely tow ilk of players from here on in. Those that choose a jumper and those that choose a journey of non specific allegiance. We have even now at our own club examples of both. In my opinion one Tom Scully embodies the latter and Jack Trengove the former. Again the real culprit is the AFL who have soufght to use an almost Black Ops approach to serve its own end. In doing so there is and wiull be collateral damage. Integrity is the first victim. Loyalty will come next. Unfortuntaley for many should you take those two away then Relevance might follow suit..

Tom Scully is on his journey.

Go Dees

You should send your comments into The Age, Letters, it is that good. Unfortunately for us Demon supporters we are having to eat Norm Smith's legendary humble pie and suffer its bitter taste, again.

Won't be announced today Harry Kewell news sees to that. Expect this to finally be resolved

Tuesday morning to provide GWS with maximum exposure.

Than we can all move on finally.

Today Tom will come out and say yeah Sydney is a nice city. "I have agreed to new terms with the MFC and would like to say to all you media here today.SHove that up your pipe and smoke it. You have not taken my word so I will never be giving any of you scum a presser. And im sick of defending myself on DEMONLAND."

maybe not but that would be good.

The assertions MFC know and are playing along are ridiculous

HOW would this be admitting we played along with the charade

Our season is over, easy to come out on Friday and say "TS has informed the MFC he won't be signing"

You talk some sense here IMO. I, like most of us here, am very keen for him to stay because he has the potential to become a very influential player. We need to build an A-grade midfield. My concern is his knee. He may actually be doing us a favour by leaving. If he ties up a large chunk of our salary cap and he is constantly hampered by his knee then we will look back at the compensation picks that we missed out on. If he goes, we need to recruit a replacement for the future. I know Jack Viney is being touted as one, but despite his hardness, i don't know how quick he is. We should do our very best to draft good mids.

PS. While Tom was obviously approached by GWS some time ago, I do take him on his word that he would do his decision making at the end of the season. The various offers and counter-offers would have been discussed and considered, and maybe he has been leaning towards one or the other, but I don't believe he ever signed a heads of agreement or anything like it.

They're lying and full of BS. Only a simpleton would now believe otherwise.

Well you would think the announcement would have to wait until Tom comes back to tell Melbourne either way so most likely be tomorrow. GWS won't make it Melbourne will.

I said Thursday it'd be announced today after the weekend of finals to reclaim the focus,he's known for weeks, but this was the plan.It gave GWS max exposure and it portrayed Tom as "still weighing up both deals" and saving face and most here believed him, just another deceptive act.

Thanks for 31 average games and good riddance,i'll send you a photo of what the MCG looks like!

Shattered. It's a black day for the club. It's downright embarrasing.

MFC could have done nothing more. Embarrassing for Scully if anything - he will have to try and convince people he only decided in last few days.

This could be another guess from Mike "Gary Ablett won't go to the Gold Coast" Sheahan.

Finally the money grabbing feather weight has made his "decision".

Good bye, and don't let the door hit you on the way out!!

If i hear any excuse other than money in the presser i will throw a brick through my TV. I'm looking forward to waving my wallet at him when hes walking up the MCG boundary line next time.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
