Big Call JCB...This is a Fantastic deal, this is what the Top Clubs get.

And we still have room for a front sponsor which in theory should mean we can ask more for that space.

Well done Cam Schwab & all involved....i will be doing business with this company next week.

Not a big call at all- Schwab did not WOW him, the owner went looking at several clubs, actually barracks for the doggies, seen the business opportunity to go with the MFC..seen the amount of money Foundation Heroes have put in, looked at Men at Melbourne and said-I'm in...the work that we mainly carried out was performed by John Poulakakis – Chief Commercial Officer, whom is also an ardent supporter.

I mentioned this in the Bank of Melbourne sponsorship thread, its pretty clear that in NSW every single person that used the

service was told to switch to AGL. I have no problems if it was clearly a sponsorship for AGL itself,

but these quasi 'advisory companies' are shamtastic.

Nevertheless their money is welcome!

Err, maybe AGL had the lowest prices in NSW??

Maybe it is AGL and maybe they use it to ensure their prices are at the lowest end of the market. Don't bag them unless you have some evidence.

iSelect do the same for health insurance. I know some people there and they are straight up and down with their info. They wouldn't survive if they weren't.

I don't know anyone who works for iSelect, but my thoughts are the same.

There was an article in the Daily Telegraph a number of months ago going into Energy Watch as all of the calls by consumers were being directed to AGL even if another Retailer had better prices. Polis is quoted saying they are not a comparison site, they are a broker.

"Energy Watch founder, Ben Polis is unapologetic.

"Yes we have preferred suppliers and we are not secret about that and, yes, we are only offering AGL in NSW at the moment because they are the only retailer out there trying to acquire customers," he said."

Energy Watch in NSW

But taking there money is ok by me...

Keep Sticking the boots in JCB...make sure they are all shiny before you start,,,Presentation is paramount.

Biggest sponsorship deal we have ever had...and you are kicking the CEO...I am sure it was a team effort, but don't stop kicking.

Alarm Bells started in my head when I saw his company only turned over $13m last year and $30m this year that a lot of money for such a small turnover.

Bank of Melbourne anyone?

IM not worried at all, i think the exposure of EW will be significant with us, increasing there turnover even further, quite a few people have already used their services just days after the signing, not to mention neutral supporters, cna see them making alot of money out of this deal

Not that i give any creedence to the ACCC

What an increible toothless tiger they are...look at Supermarkets and oil prices.

Total waste of time the ACCC!!!

This is concerning...

But so was VISY...

It is an interesting situation and I don't know whether a deal with AGL is indeed in place, I will say that the ACCC goes into things to this degree for two reasons:

1. A strong, legitimate case against an entity.

2. A strong push from another entity that is not benefiting from the existence of said entity.

Really hope it's the latter.

Either way I would take their money...

The company I work for (in the same industry) went through a lengthy and painful ACCC investigation a couple of years or so ago based on your point two. After over a year of a lot of people's time and several million dollars spent, my company was cleared of any wrongdoing. The article on EW suggests they're taking legal action which sounds like what would happen after an investigation, but given I'd heard nothing of the investigation (ours was well publicised) I'm just guessing that they're being investigated because one of their competitors has squealed.

In short there's a good chance it's just nothing, and either way it'll most likely be a few years before anything comes of it.

I agree with RobbieF's post though in that it seems a large sponsorship for a company with a relatively small turnover. I hope that the club has done the right thing.

If the money is paid up front its fine. I would imagine before the club starts changing merchandise most of the money would have been paid.
