We know they often eat their own, but true supporters are embodied in the story of now deceased Tigers fan David MANDIE. Would have seen a lot of pain in those times, but also some premierships. Take the ups with the downs. By all accounts had a great relationship with the players,so expect them to come out fired up on Sunday. Test of character for our boys to weather the storm and step up in the 2nd quarter unlike the last month!

Yes i heard KB mention him this morning....that guy sounds just like my Grandad, who was born across the road from the punt Road oval in 1906.

Anyone hear some of the scarf-burning and membership ending talk after Geelong.These old blokes would never even consider EVER leaving their team. Shame on those of little faith .

I cannot believe the amount of losers that have posted on this topic. You are no different than what you think the club is.

I believe in this fantastic club, I believe in the administration, the players and the end goal.

The club doesn’t need this continued negativity; it needs us the supporters to stand up, when we are down (like champions do) and tell the club we believe in what they are doing.

Oldest club in the league; 12 premierships; Brownlow medallists; AFL legends.

I LOVE the Melbourne Football Club and always will. If you don’t like them anymore, ‘F’ off. If you can’t watch them anymore ‘F’ off.

You lose, don’t come running back or telling everyone we are back when you turn your back on the club when it needs you most.

The supporters are half the problem, if it is not;

1. At the MCG;

2. A nice day;

3. A Saturday;

4. 2:10 start; and

5. A chance of Melbourne winning.

Melbourne supporters don’t turn up.

All I ask is support the club in a positive manner and believe in what they are doing.

They weren't far off the pace today.

This is what gets me. Some have even referred to the Subi game, in direct comparison to the ES game, as a debacle.

At Subi we:

Won 1 quarter.

Lost by exactly 9 goals.

Had 22 scoring shots at goal.

Had 1450 games experience WCE had 1920.

Travelled and played in front of a hostile 38,000 strong crowd.

Had Bail, Jurrah, Gysberts, Grimes, Green, Bennell, Wonaeamirri (103 games + Brad Green (300))

At ES we:

Won 1 quarter.

Lost by exactly 8 goals.

Had 17 scoring shots at goal.

Had 1477 games experience WCE had 1900.

Didn't travel and played in front of a partisan, if subdued, 15,000 strong crowd.

Had Macdonald, Nicholson, Scully, Petterd, McKenzie, Howe, Blease (146 games + Joel Macdonald (106))

No doubt the ES game was better than the two preceeding.

The second quarter though was horrible. In fact it was worse than any Subi quarter.

If we weren't far off the pace, was it a similar result at Subi in April?

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

    It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

    TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

    Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

    GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

    It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

    Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

    The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

    Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
