I know that the way they line up is not often reflected in these published sides but I do not understand Bennell on a HBF.

I am no rap for him but it seems to me his best games have been when playing in the forward line.

Why the HBF?

Are we crucifying the kid?

Tell me all you admirers out there.

Whats with the HBF?

This is the role he played as a junior as well as he played in this position when starting his career at MFC. He has been played in several positions since so to settle him down in one position may be good for his confidence.

Buggered if I can find it but I have a recollection of someone stating on here that they had it from a reliable source that Davey had a clause in his contract that stipulated he wasn't to play in the two's?

HMMM I didnt think so. Can anyone find it? (apologies for not being that tech savvy)

You'll find a lot of bs here from time to time egd.

Doubt anyone here has every seen an mfc contract let alone read one.

I am having a good weekend so far and it is only Thursday night.

Davey playing at Casey which IMO is where he should be this weekend.

I agree with you about Flash, old dee ......... and (grudgingly) about the demotion of Bennell as well.

This may surprise you but I actually feel sorry for the kid.

The last couple of games he has looked like a lost little boy to me.

Hope of couple of games at Casey gives him his confidence back as he looks like he has zero at present.

Unfortunately I don't think he is up to AFL standard.

If that is correct and there are plenty on here who would howl me down

It must be awful if that feeling hits home to you!

Hope he improves

I remember reading that thread and laughed at the preposterousness of it.

Here is the offending thread, although I'd doubt we'd see any of the protagonists around to defend themselves:

IMO, he needs to learn to find his own 'spine', rather than learn to expect to be propped up. He must be 20 or 21 by now, so the sooner he finds he's not scared and can learn to find his own 'Mojo', then maybe he can learn to find his own footy.

It's all in his own head,,, & hands!!!

I read that too. However, like you I don't remember the poster. Person in question, be brave come forward and disclose yourself!

Scorps were good last week, and this is an even stronger side.

With some luck all guys coming back from injury will get through and give us the much desired "selection headache" that we so covert.

Be interesting to see how Robbie Campbell goes in the 1s, and how Fitzy goes coming back in the 2s.

I was the one who stated 'Davey will be one of the few players with a clause...' So yeah, I'm happy to be proven wrong.

And I might not be 100% wrong either! He could have a clause saying he doesn't have to play if he doesn't want to!

*I'm gonna go hide in a corner now, kthanxbye*

And so glad you asked me to 'disclose' myself, last time I was asked to 'dis-clothe'..... Got weird towards the end there....

Due to a family function I won't be able to provide regular updates during the afternoon but I can report that Casey Reserves have gotten off to a flyer - 10.0.60 to Frankston 0.0.0 - and that the wind is not much of a factor at the moment.

Another barbie in Cranbourne?

    BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

2024 Player Reviews: #5 Christian Petracca

Melbourne’s most important player who dominated the first half of the season until his untimely injury in the Kings Birthday clash put an end to his season. At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury. 2024 Player Reviews: #2 Jacob van Rooyen

Strong marking youngster who plays forward and relief ruck, continued to make significant strides forward in his career path. The Demons have high hopes for van Rooyen as he stakes his claim to become an elite attacking forward. LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Unfortunately, didn’t quite get there although he did finish equal sixth in Casey’s best and fairest award. Date of Birth: 23 February 1999 Height: 198cm Games CDFC: 14 Goals CDFL: 13

Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed.
