Sorry mate I mean't Blease.

Bate was one of the best.

i dont know how to link to other sites but he had 22 possies kicked 2 goals ( 2 out of the teams total of 3 to half time) and was rated as very good in the match report.

ok no worries mate was goin into bat for him then...

Blease and Bennell out, Tapscott and Maric in

Its offical

Tapscott and Maric are in.

Out Bennell and Blease

That means Davey is either not fit or playing for Casey this weekend.

Macdonld probably did not come up either.

Interesting to see the Casey side on Sunday.

Wow. Well at least he wasn't dropped for Bate.

MacDonald maybe not fit enough, as he's not even an emergency. Tapscott in and Bennell out was expected, but I didn't think Maric would replace Blease. Oh well.

Cant believe Morton survives again. How was or is he better than bennell or Blease??

It better just be a currency buiilding exercise.

No complaints here, been waiting for Maz to get another run for a while, and Tappy is Tappy...

How could he have been worse?

Blease was on for half a game and Bennell was subbed off!

I agree, If Bennell is to be out we need to replace him with a small who can handle the greasy conditions, as well his stocky body will help to ride any bumps met in tough ball handling conditions. Better a body like Marics compared to a bodysize like Davey's.

Horses for courses Oldee. At this stage Blease is pretty much a Dry track sprinter.

Maric is a good selection for the conditions.

Seeing that Bennell has been dropped for being too 'Outsidish'. He went better last week @ Casey, lets hope he can dedicate himself to develop his 'inside' game to a much higher level.

The team continues to grow towards it's best 22 state.

except tappy is replacing bennell

and maric will be sub (replacing blease)

Em, maybe, but if I were picking the team the first one out of the Darwin team would've been Blease, with the first in being Tappy. So following that logic,,, Bennell moves to Sub:

Then I want to drop Bennell as well, so he can have more time to develop his 'inside game' @ Casey, so I'd bring in a Maric type player.

However with all this I have to say I'm surprised the club is taking a hard line with Bennell now, for the Darwin game. This is one game (conditions), I would have kept him for. anyways.

Agree Davey will be a big chance. No way Bennell or Jurrah will be dropped. It would not surprise me if Jetta was made the sub to get as many of the indigenous blokes in the team as possible, especially with no Wona (and Jetta had a great game last year). MFC has shown in the past that they will let the marketing department pick the team.

Looks like I was wrong. Actually, not real sure how I could of been any more wrong.

We all do that, Desire v Realities, = fluid perspective.

My interest is that the FD now seem to be happy with leaving the back pockets as a speedy running Nicholson and so far the super defensive yet long kicking Strauss and putting Tapscott on the bench suggests to me a forward of center or middle role for Tapscott. I for one am incredibly happy with this!

I can't believe I was 75% correct, that's a better than normal strike rate, and all done under the influence of heavy drug sedation. Amazing. I should go buy a lotto ticket while I'm still high on pain killers, and if I win I'll donate some of the cash to the Keep Tom Scully From Making The Biggest Mistake of His Life Fund.

On the live team chat this arvo Martin Cox (not sure how much he knows??)seem to say when asked about Marric being the sub that he thought Howe or Gys would be more likely. Hope this is not the case....

OK i think my thread Davey at Casey just got deleted?? Anyway i was asking if anyone remembers someone stating as fact on here that Davey had a clause in his contract that he was not to play in the two's and that a few players had that clause and it was quite common.

OK - enough with the hints - what's your story? Why the hospitalisation? More points if you can weave in something related to footy.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.
