Having watched matches to date plus AFLW I was looking forward to watching Dees prime time only to discover its live on NSW only.

And guess what

here in Murmungee I get My to cover from Shepparton.

My nearest neighbour across the paddock gets us coverage from Albury.

Hes a Collngwood supporter so no joy.

it would cost me too many beers to watch the whole game with him

Derwyane is unlistenable. Every action, no matter how ordinary or basic, is described using a superlative.

Alright to get back on track, how about the following. With the Dees 3-0 for the first time in yonks, if the Dees knock off Geelong to make it 4-0, we have a competition on this thread to find the best image with 4 bananas in it. If the unthinkable happens and the Dees lose, we have a competition on this thread to find the best image on the theme of "Hells Bells". If it is a draw, Redleg gets to make the call about what happens.

What say you all?

We will be lucky to be vaccinated by finals time.

We are always careful to sanitise and social distance. Masks when too close to unfamiliar people.

its all a debacle, just as likely to get hit by a bus as die from Covid.

i want front line workers and incoming tourists etc from overseas to be inoculated, tested and quarantined if required.

Me too but I reckon you will get the vaccine by June. I am hanging loose till then. I just stay away from crowds. Have no confidence on the Vic government controlling things when Aussies start returning from OS.

Its the most remarkable thing that Vic community has been so compliant with instructions, and on my trip to the footy round  one everyone was cautious. Still not really congested . Stay away from public transport and sit near friends you know are symptom free.

i think the vaccine doesn't stop the spread just limits the damage.

keep fit and be less vulnerable. I fear what might happen when winter hits an people are more vulnerable to cold and flue.

Getting my normal flu injection next week. Re  covid injections our clinic told us last week they have no idea when they will receive the vaccine or how much. A bloody shambles! Re the first game at 50% capacity and only 23k there you can spread out,  at 75+ that will be a lot harder. Good luck l will look for you in the crowd!!!!!!

Good news for one of my favourites.

"MELBOURNE rookie and surprise free agent James Jordon is poised to clinch a new deal with the Demons just four months after being delisted by the club. "

4 to this point.

I see we have a New President!

But it should have been Uncle Bitters in the President role as his diplomacy skills would have us at number one AFL club in no time.

Thanks for the positive post re Round1 DPositive and the Covid plan response from the Melbourne crowd.

However as I Have pointed out the likelihood of flu catchment is much much less due to the general population adhering to the Covid safe practices. Try just had been proved by the stats from 2020.

As usual OD your comments re Covid Vaccine and the crowds at the footy Are  at  best Flippant and worst inaccurate and misleading.

1. The total  numbers in the crowd Or the % of Crowd allowed  in the ground are totally irrelevant to the ability of Each person to move about freely.

Your ticket  has your seat no. and you are in a Zone and restricted to that area to purchase food and/ or go to the bathroom.

You cannot waltz freely  into another Zone to speak to an Old crony Or even your Mother in Law!

2. Covid Vaccine

The provision of Venues for Vaccine In Australia is a Specialised operation with mist GO's not able to handle the rollout in these initial stages.

You asking your GP When you can have the vaccine is basically irrelevant if he is not one of the designated venues for receiving  the jab.
It is not a shambles that you can't have it at your local GP clinic if they are unable to or are not a Clinic  dispensing the vaccine.

The procedure is to go to the Aust Govt Health website and do the CHECKER test to ascertain what priority you are. Ie 1a, 1b or 2a etc.

Once you get this answer then you can put your postcode in The box and about 5/6 choices Of locations nearby will be on the screen where you may Book for the vaccine once that Category has commenced.

( 1 a and 1 b are priority so far but 2a is getting nearer ).

In the future the Covid Vaccine procedure May become like the flu vaccine but we don't know really at this stage.

So waiting forvthe vaccine rollout fir your clinic is probably in vain and frankly if you are in either 1a or 1 b category you should be considering getting the jab ASAP for your own safety and your families as well. There is also a second booster to get within 2/3 weeKs or  12 weeks Depending upon which Vaccine either Sfizer or Astra Veneca you received.

It is not the GP's  real role in this procedure to notify all their patients that the vaccine is available unless they belong to a Clinic  that is approved for dispensing the rollout.

Hopefully that updates  generally your knowledge on both Covid plans and vaccine availability.

Thanks for the " how to suck Eggs" lesson.

We are not supposed to discuss politics on Demonland so I won't bother with a two page rebuttal.

Come on OD, I was looking for a full rebuttal and not a two page summary.

Reckon bitters would bring out the deviant and degenerate vote. It’s a surprisingly large constituency I understand.

  • GAMEDAY: Geelong

It's Game Day, and reinforcements are finally arriving for the Demons—but will it be too little, too late? They're heading down the freeway to face a Cats side returning home to their fortress after two straight losses, desperate to reignite their own season. Can the Demons breathe new life into their campaign, or will it slip even further from their grasp?

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit.
Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

For a brief period of time in the early afternoon of yesterday, the Casey Demons occupied top place on the Smithy’s VFL table. This was only made possible by virtue of the fact that the team was the only one in this crazy competition to have played twice and it’s 1½ wins gave it an unassailable lead on the other 20 teams, some of who had yet to play a game.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

In my all-time nightmare game, the team is so ill-disciplined that it concedes its first two goals with the courtesy of not one, but two, fifty metre penalties while opening its own scoring with four behinds in a row and losing a talented youngster with good decision-making skills and a lethal left foot kick, subbed off in the first quarter with what looks like a bad knee injury.
