Probably all of the above Ernest. Why bring in an outsider as CEO? Perhaps a reviewer with who owes nothing to any of the incumbants in the FD?

Maybe the outsiders role is to have an independent review of the FD/Senior coach?

Could be a good thing or a  bad thing OD.

Breathe of fresh air with a person that has no allegiances and doesn't buy into past myths, stories and accepted ways of doing things or someone who comes in to make his mark and creates distraction, disruption and disharmony.

However, we know that there is no good outcome without success on the field. And for that we need, top notch players, a top notch team and a top notch coach.   . All these things must be in balance.

not sold on the coach or the need for balance ?

are you pedantic or a man who knows his mind ?.

or maybe I have missed your point completely, something that I do all the time.

I read so many posts and I scratch my head in wonder over the depth of analysis and detail. I think well, it cant be that complicated, its only a game of footy.

In the good old days, we would go along and watch the game, buy a copy of the Herald post match, read Alf Brown's reports of the game, maybe buy a copy of Sporting Globe, watch Pelaco Inquest or World of Sport (depending on whether you won or lost), listen to one of the doyens of the game, agree or disagree on the 3 votes, and forget about the game until League Teams on Thursday night.

Those great men of the game who have gone to footy heaven would shake their skulls in wonder and roll over.the other way.

I am not sold on the coach and a couple in the FD Ernest. It seems to me like if you do not fit the Coach's cookie cutter than you are at Casey. It seems to me that the successful coaches take their player skills and build a game around the talent available. We seem to be doing the opposite. Why play potentially the best Full forward up the ground. Why play what may be the best HFF in the mid field where he is clearly not performing.

Just not sold that it is all the players fault for our dismal results against any half decent team.

I am with you. There is more to it than player blame.

Well I must say I have had a strenuous outback adventure.

These Westralians have some quite bizarre habits though. These public “dump points “ in caravan parks are quite uncomfortable and I always seemed to draw an audience of voyeurs. Odd lot.

Anyway I left a trail of tinea through their ablution blocks as repayment

A delicacy no doubt. I bet the pigs that sniff it out are always sick.

  • REPORT: Adelaide

The atmosphere at the Melbourne Football Club at the beginning of the season was aspirational following an injury-plagued year in 2024. Coach Simon Goodwin had lofty expectations with the return of key players, the anticipated improvement from a maturing group with a few years of experience under their belts, and some exceptional young talent also joining the ranks. All of that went by the wayside as the team failed to click into action early on. It rallied briefly with a new strategy but has fallen again with five more  consecutive defeats.

  • CASEY: Coburg

The Casey Demons returned to their home ground which was once a graveyard for opposing teams but they managed to gift the four points on offer to Coburg with yet another of their trademark displays of inaccuracy in front of goals and some undisciplined football that earned the displeasure of the umpires late in the game. The home team was welcomed by a small crowd at Casey Fields and looked right at home as it dominated the first three quarters and led for all bar the last five minutes of the game. In the end, they came away with nothing, despite winning everywhere but on the scoreboard and the free kick count.

  • PREGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne

After four weeks on the road the Demons make their long awaited return to the MCG next Sunday to play in a classic late season dead rubber against the North Melbourne Kangaroos. Who comes in and who comes out?

  • POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.
