If you looked at this week's side you would think we were tanking, until you looked at our injury list.

Our injury list was longer in 2009 and we were not only accused of tanking - we were charged with it and found guilty of employing a person who joked about tanking.

So please, treat all discussion on this subject as deadly serious or you could cost the club $½m in fines and get the CEO and football manager sacked and Roosy banned.

Gee quiet on here tonight! Just got back from a get together with some old footy club mates at the Great Northern in Carlton. Great night but gee we are not the men we once were. Several guys called it quits by 10 claiming they were a bit tired! Would not have happened in our halcyon days. Half the table were Hawks fans, one involved with the Dawks was adamant they had Dangerfield lined up, been working on him for two years. At which point I said if you bastards get Dangermouse, that is it I am giving up AFL to follow the local footy.

Think danger is heading our way actually.

What was your local club?

And did you notice limps get worse with old age.

Earl Hood does not limp Jizz! It is not possible to limp while attached to a $10000 hipster bicycle.

Which brings me to the point of my post.

Today's Age (That's a newspaper for literate people Fl og ) page 9 features an informative article on "hipsters". It seems our very own Earl Hood (not unexpectedly) is at the world cutting edge of hipsterism.

Note the impeccable fashion sense of the fellow in the pic.

PS Please post a link dc.

The Age still in existence is it? Last time I saw one was in a cafe and it looked like a very shriveled up ghost of the once mighty broadsheet it was in the day when newspapers published news and not propaganda based on the editor's political viewpoint.

and yet the AFL lets drug cheats go free!

The world is a crazy place.

Great day Jazza once I found out we had won I knew you would be wrapped as you said you were going. For me I was driving home this arvo from the Surf Coast but had banned all radio communications in the car as I expected carnage. My wife kept checking the scores and telling me I would be pleased with the score but I forebode all comment on scores. I refused to countermand my orders on the grounds that if we tuned in that would lead to an avalanche of Cat goals. Anyway got home knowing we must have won because the missus couldn't keep the smirk off her face (she was checking AFL.com on her phone). Anyway I believe my tactics worked a treat because if I had have listened in at half time we would have lost for sure.

By the way I have been trying to get onto BBO but he left a voice message that he was going outside with his whip and would be away for a while! Any idea what he means?

Glad it was a great day, jazza, and a perfect result.

Can you arrange to do some more driving from the Surt Coast in future, Earl? :)

I fear for the emotional well being of the alpacas Earl. BBO is on a flogging frenzy atm. Small children and the elderly should be warned.

Appreciate your restraint and while this is not the time for unrestrained joy, that pleasure must be savoured when the ultimate success is achieved it is the time to enjoy the progress. While we all do not have to replicate BBO now is the time to partake of your own singular pleasure before we must again continue our various messages and means of inspirational efforts . Continue!

You should have a James Hird type boner for the next 5years.

We are well on the way.

What a strange feeling tonight.

We beat the Cats at Geelong I am at peace with the world and we are not playing to two weeks.

Seem to be a big happy place for the next twelve days

Do you want me to send you videos of the MFC past 8 years of games so you can contain your excitement ?

OMG Red what did they do to you over there?

Well they starved me of bananas for one thing.

They allowed our game against the Cats to be in the middle of the night for another.

They didn't cover the game in the press for another.

No replays either.

Need to get back to civilisation.

Probably will.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
