ALL-STARS SQUAD

Aaron Davey, Liam Jurrah, Jamie Bennell (Melbourne).

I am proud that our guys are representing, but, please - for the love of God - do not get injured.

Richmond have named a pretty lame squad, even for them, but we have got some of our best talent out there...

I noticed that the game is going to be live on ABC!! Friday night at 8:30.

if any of those 3 get even slightly hurt I will be severely [censored] off beyond consolation.. all are important and brilliant to watch

Maybe, but for them to represent indigenous footballers in this game is a great honour... so I am really pleased for them; besides, I can't really see that Richmond side being capable of inflicting anything, much less injury, on anyone.

How does Bennell get named ahead of Wonna?

Probably for the same reason he would in an MFC 22.

If Bennell and Wonna were in the draft at your pick who would you take - I'd take Bennell.

I would have thought the fact that his late father having a strong involvement in NT/indigenous footy might have helped get Ozzie a guernsey, perhaps it is fitness as suggested above

Bennell is underrated

Expect Jurrah to explode on Friday night. Not literally, like he is prone to in pre-season games, but in the sense that he will be best on ground.

What, you mean he is not really going to blow up?:)

I found it intresting that in the article they say "AFL players Cyril Rioli, Buddy Franklin and Liam Jarrah."

I guess Jurrah has become a bigger drawcard than Davey in the media now.

Good luck to all those picked. I can't wait to watch and get some footy fix.

My tip: All Stars by 25pts. Davey to star.

Also interesting to watch out for a B.Miller who has been named for the Tigers.

GREAT, I don't want our stars playing in this Mickey Mouse crap.

Maybe "mickey mouse crap" to you, but for those players representing the indigenous footballers is considered quite an honour. But you're right, why should we care about what they want... we know what's best for them!

Practice matches where players have to travel and potentially get injured playing against Richmond thirds, YES to me are Mickey Mouse whatever the cause.

I never actually mentioned any "cause"...but, whatever.

Veteran Demonland Trackwatchers Kev Martin, Slartibartfast & Demon Wheels were on hand at Gosch's Paddock to kick off the official first training session for the 1st to 4th year players with a few elder statesmen in attendance as well. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning. Joy all round, they look like they want to be there.  21 in the squad. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. The first round draft pick at #13 from twelve months ago the strongly built medium forward has had an impressive introduction to AFL football and is expected to spend more midfield moments as his career progresses.
