Jack Viney commits to Demons

two other things to note in that article:

and most encouragingly:

left footer too.

This is just GOLD!

Great work by a proactive, and smartly run football club!

We are going to set the AFL on fire over the next decade...........get excited people!

rpfc, this post needs to be quoted again for it's accuracy. I must admit that I missed that one when I first read it but the implications are very attractive.

Definitely.. when he debuts in 2013 he will be coming off two years professional training at an AFL club, he will know the coach and his teammates very well and will be under the eye of his own father, no less. What an extremely rare situation.. he will be miles ahead of his colleagues in that draft.

So does anyone know if and when he will be able to play for Casey or have i missed the answer to that somewhere in the thread!?

Yes, I would wonder whether 'Thomo' would be agianst this if it was framed such as this:

If you were running a club and could secure a top 10 talent (for a pick below his proposed market value) two years before the draft so you could properly prepare him for his career would you do it?

It's a rhetorical question.

Imagine grabbing Tom Scully ot Jack Trengove when he was 16 and getting him ready for his debut two years later.

It really is a no-brainer.

174 cms and 69 kgs.....meh, pass!

Not sure where you got 69kgs from...

Hope he grows , be tough to throw around 174cm no matter how hard he is .

Now 175cm and 78kg. And growing.

Todd arrived in at the Dees at 88kg.

hes 16! he will still have another 3 years of growth in him. should make it to 185 at least. relax mofos

Of course he is or should.

mofos ?

Not too sure about that

He is well developed for his age, doesn't look like a late shooter to me

As an inside mid I'd be happy with around 178

Current theory for male growth prediction is "For Boys: (Father’s Height + Mother’s Height + 5) / 2" P.S. thats in inches. For centimeters (Father + (Mother + 12.5)) / 2

So, how tall's his mum??

haha sorry, mofos just slipped out.

i think we can certainly count on another 5cm......which is 180. dont forget, boys develop later than girls and can often not finish growing until they are 20....

anyway 180 is more than enough for a midfielder. the taller the better of course, but its not like we can control it.

therefore i dont think his height will be an issue ala valenti.

haha sorry, mofos just slipped out.

Well, technically I am one so no worries demon_cool.gif

Dion Prestia is only 175cm and he got drafted at #9 a week ago. If you are good enough, you will make it. Look at Boomer Harvey from the Roos, he seems to cut us up every time he plays us.

What?!

I don't think he means his own...

Why are we talking about incest on this lovely thread? Way to ruin something innocent and beautiful with your filth!

So...

Who's a fan of shunning Col Sylvia the No. 12 guernsey and gifting it to young J, Viney???

Reckon Jack would be keen on wearing his old man's number?

Will he want to carve his own path ala G. Ablett Jnr?

Since Sylvia has 12... yes.

Only a warped mind would think of incest, that's actually incredibly disgusting.

Hey, you brought up Mofos and then someone else said "not his own". I went with it

Poor Jack, two minutes into his Melbourne career and he's already getting his threads derailed on Demonland. Welcome son, welcome!

No thanks. Give him 11

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
