My bold strategy didn't pay off

It has for some, including this season already

There is often a trap game, but predicting those occurances is tricky

Last year (and the year before) we had 2 x 4 week stretch's where no one gained a point

In fact, 2 seasons ago 2 participants failed to gain a point at all!

But we've changed things a bit where 1 point is awarded for 2 out of 3 (ain't bad)

Yeah the meatloaf should stop the zero points happening again.

Talk of Stafford being traded is being whispered around. And I've even heard Kupps name.

Tua has been placed on IR.

So Miami down their QB for 4 weeks minimum, I think this could end their season as a serious threat. (not that I thought they would win the SB)

Will he be forced to retire though?

That would definitely get the Dolphins down the pecking order very fast.

They said they have done it so he doesn't have to feel like he has to rush back and he can take time to consult specialists in concussion and not have media asking when he is back etc.

So as for retirement i assume that will depend on the advice, I mean this was a innocuous hit, I mean he hits Damer in the chest/arm so its not even helmet to helmet.

If he does go on, he needs to slide when he runs, this was an avoidable hit and one he should have slid on.

Texans

Lions

Chiefs

No tipping the Niners again this week, another shock upset would be trouble but Gorg hanging it on me would be double.

It never ceases to amaze me how few QBs actually know how to slide properly. I used to think it was a basic fundamental of being a QB but there are quite a lot who don't do it well consistently. Guys like Russell Wilson or Kyler Murray are naturals but it almost seems like if you didn’t play baseball as a kid or in college it’s just something you have to learn on the fly. I get it that players are competitive and want those extra yards but you’ve got the slide rule to help you, why risk it?

As Aaron Rodgers once said: “Slide, you’re too damn talented.”

Yeah I would be learning that technique for protection but if you start and they hit you its also 15yrds! And when you watch that hit, Tua just runs into him with his head down. He essentially knocks himself out.

Have you seen Jayden Daniels attempts at sliding? Next Tua waiting to happen.

They are seriously suggesting we give up Stafford and a third rounder for young… who pays these fools?

Media across all sports are getting dumber whilst being paid more.

Rams have missed 33 tackles so far... Most in the NFL, niners have the least missed with 6. We play each other this week... Ha ha oh boy.

Jets are looking very good on both side of the ball in this first half. until the last minute.

Texans, 49ers, Chiefs

Kittle out for the Niners helps a lot, I honestly think this game will be decided by the defence, and the Niners have a clear advantage there.

Niners, Chiefs, Bears

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

  • POSTGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
