The hawks are obviously letting this fine basket of goodies go for a reason !!! There all nqr ... I say pass

Skipper and Muston are the surprises for me.

I'd have Skipper over Paul Johnson anyday.

Skipper would be a very decent option for a rookie list spot, as insurance if Jamar goes down injured at all.

Skipper has shown this year he can be competitive at afl level if he's called upon. He's not a star, but would be a handy insurance policy.

There is no doubt in the rookie draft we're going to pick up a mature age ruckman from some lower league, Skipper at least has some proven form at afl level.

Mass delistings:

Carl Peterson

Rhan Hooper

Simon Taylor

Wade Skipper

Beau Muston

Beau Dowler

Cameron Stokes

Travis Tuck

Gary Moss

Michael Johnston

Jarrod Kayler-Thomson

picking through that lot, there might be one or 2 worth taking a chance on, but I'd rather not.

My Council gives you 4 waste collections a year. I trust the Hawks abide by the rules and properly ties up all that garbage and places in small piles outside on the front nature strip.

Which Beau was it that debuted with a BOG against us last year?

Muston.

Honestly calling your son Beau......

Skipper at least worth a look.

Maybe so.

Ranga Ediriwickrama was delisted by the cats. I thought he could play... I guess not.

Great name though.

Gee, that's a lot of delistings.

For a team that has been crying out for ruckmen for two years, I'm surprised they think they're well off enough to drop Taylor and Skipper. Especially given Skipper played a healthy portion of this year in the seniors. Including the final vs Freo. As an insurance rookie he couldn't be that bad, but I would prefer us to play Martin.

The rest are all duds, with the possible exception of Carl Peterson, but his head isn't in the right spot. Apparently nor are Dowler's or Hooper's.

Muston played one good game. It was agaisnt us last year on debut.

I wouldve thought the name Ranga would give him automatic entry to a spot on our list.

Rookie maybe...

He was supposed to be the goods & it was said the cats got a steal when they took him on a NSW scholarship.

Wow.. Thats pretty strange..

Skipper

Dowler

Moss

I think all must be looked at, Skipper was improving throughout the year I thought?

Wasn't there talk earlier about dowler being alright, just needs a break from injury and spot in someones forward line?

And moss was a decent football for some of the game I saw?

Hawks are making some strange decisions............

Hey, Beau is a fine, gentleman's name!

Haven't played close attention to the hawks, but...

I don't rate Skipper any higher than PJ;

Dowler was struggling to get a touch in the Box Hill reserves;

and Moss, from memory, struggles to hit a target and everything else about him is average (no outstanding qualities).

Pass, pass, pass.

Muston would be the only one i'd consider as a rookie, and his body is probably spent.

Big clean out ; Sqawkers obviously to use all picks + psd . Massive call for them given the contrived draft .

You'd think Skipper could get a game this year if halfway ok ... Simply can't be , most others either injury magnets or not up to the job . Mfc might talk to Wade I suspect as formality .

Hawks wouldn't want to slip up huh !! Lol .. That'd be a damn shame

hawks have made a lot of room...i can see them loading up on youth at this years draft.

Bad year to do it.

GC gets all the picks and GWS gets all the 17 year olds (although they wouldn't be available anyway).

I thought maybe they'd keep a few on 1 year contracts so they could load up some more next year with better picks.

It's a massive roll of the dice.. Funny timing :huh.:

In other news, CJ apparently delisted as well.

Surprised David Hale's not on the list as well

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
