Ok, with only hours until Trade Week finished for another year, what are the final deals that you would like to see come off for the MFC? Be realistic people!

Here's mine (as posted under the Jesse White thread);

Trade Maric and pick 32 to Sydney, in return we get Jesse White and either their 3rd or 4th round pick.

Means we keep/get;

Pick 12 (to be used on a midfielder)

Jesse White

Swans 3rd/4th round pick - used to promote McKenzie

Means we lose;

Maric

Pick 32

With Spencer being promoted, I would delist Paul Johnson, give him the opportunity to nominate for the PSD, but offer him a spot on the rookie list if he doesn't get picked up.

This my friends is the perfect last minute trade. Sydney would be crazy to knock it back, considering they got White at pick 79!

Thoughts and other realistic last minute deals?

Sydney won't buy that deal in a million years.

I would love to get this trio somehow tommorow.

Jesse White - Agree he would be perfect fit for that huge forward / 2nd ruckman role

Alwyn Davey - I just reckon Flash/ Jurrah & the rest of the indigenous boys would go to another level with junior Davey onboard

Daniel Motlop - As above , I think the fit would be ideal for the next two years & might help focus this wasted talent.

Anyway I know I'm dreaming but thats my wish list for tommorow's final trading frenzy.

Adam Maric doesnt have enough trade value to warrant any interest there.. from all reports White is off limits because he would demand too much.

Seems like we're only in the market for a ruck relief for Jamar- Jacobs wants out of Carlton, they want a FB... almost seems like a match made in heaven.

Happy for you to have an opinion, but why wouldn't Sydney buy that deal? We are giving them a 2nd round pick, plus a player that has obvious ability but never given enough opportunity, who was also a number 21 draft pick and is only 20 years old. Plus they have a proven history of being very open at trade time.

We are only interested in a KPF who can provide ruck relief, hence chasing Hale. Jacobs is useless as a forward. White is a better forward than ruckman, but can provide such relief.

Maric might not have the trade value, but I'm suggesting a 2nd round pick PLUS Maric as some type of sweetener.

Wouldn't be totally surprised to see Warnock traded to Carlton, perhaps for their 2nd rounder. Too good for vfl, and although would be really good backup, I would think that we would shift Stefan Martin back to 100% concentrate on being a key defender, also McNamar is also on our list.

Alex McDonald on Tradetalk radio just said Kyle Cheney has asked to be traded to a club bc of opportunity and that Melbourne has been open minded in trading him to a club that is interested in him. Some interest in him and might be a trade late on monday.

Is pick 32 and Cheney a better deal for Sydney for Jesse White and a late one?

Sounds like I have this massive man-crush on this bloke, but I just can't see the point in f-ing around with other teams 22 year old project players, when there are a couple out there that might be easily convinced to come to the MFC. It will mean throwing a couple of dollars their way, and might cost us a player and a higher pick, but surely it's safer isn't it?

We need a full forward who can play ruck. As a full forward, my expectation is probably a lot less than others - I would be stoked to get 30-40 goals out of them. As a ruck they need to be very competitive. Hale could have been that man, we didn't get him. Jesse White is as close to being a certainty to tick my boxes, especially considering we need that player doing it from round 1, 2011.

I agree jesse white is the best of what may be on offer. as a second string ruck man he only needs to break even when relieving jamar or whoever else may be main ruck.

He can play forward well and I think he would be far happier and more effective as a forward the the "G" than the SCG.

If a better player emerges chase them but he's young so he should only get better, given Bradshaw has a few years left at the swans he won't be getting as many opportunities there compared with us.

No.

Given what Hale went for, the deal would be an absolute stinker for the Swans.

Cheney, Maric or any other VFL player aint no sweetener in a deal.

Rule 1 for trade deals is that they are a win win for both parties. Sydney get nothing out of this.

Bradshaw is almost finished at AFL and struggled to play this year. It might give a hint why Sydney wont give up White.

Justin Westoff.

Bate or Warnock to Carlton

Walker to Port Adelaide

Westoff to Melbourne

Possible exchange of later picks.

Fair 3 way trade for all teams.

Kyle Cheney to Hawthorn

Muston or Dowler to Melbourne

Exchange of late picks possible

or

Kyle Cheney to Sydney

Daniel Currie to Melbourne

Maric & Pick 32 to Essendon

David Hille to Melbourne

In all seriousness... David Hale was really all we were interested in this year.

The Dees lost him (in which, to me, I think we dodged a bullet!) and that'll be it for us.

The Dockers have secured Perth player Tendai Mzungu. They traded their pick 38 for the running defender & the Gold Coast's pick 44.

I've checked him out and before he played for Perth he was President of Upper Volta and was deposed in a bloodless coup in 2007. He was granted political asylum on entering the country and the rest, as they say, is history.

bate and pick 32 for white . bate unable to get a game lately , then with pettard coming back and IF we got white. bate would not be missed.

Hoping we pick up Beau Dowler. Will most probably be delisted by the Hawks, so could get him for a very late pick I would say. Found it difficult to break into Hawks side due to rough and buddy. Hawks tried him down back, but he is a natural forward. Finished the year with no confidence and in the Box Hill ressies. When given a game at AFL level he has actually looked all right.

Hawks supporters I know are not happy with their clubs ability to develop players, and recent history suggests their fringe players have done well at new clubs (Kennedy and Mcglynn).

Was an absolute star throughout his juniour days and highly rated in his draft year. I think it's worth a punt, we don't lose much if he doesn't make it, but potentially could gain alot if he lives up to his potential.

Dowlers name is always thrown up by hawks supporters around trade time, is there something more to him we don't know about?

Petterd is the same kind of player as Dowler IMO, unless we could get him for a steal I don't know if we'd bother

A player who should be delisted at Melbourne, for a player that would walk into the best 22 from a club that needs him, how about we throw in a pick that nobody will use, that sounds fair. Love these trade boards.

22 year olds who finished the year playing Box Hill Reserves as Dowler did are at best a contender for a rookie position.

In terms of final day Dee deals... think any Dee involvment may involve possible deals for draft picks..

Cheney - contracted i think...is back in the queue for a half back at Dees so may get offered more regular semior footy elsewhere which I think we should facilitate even if for an unused pick... a club like Essendon could do with an actual half back flanker rather than the not quite right utilities they generally play there...

Maric - contracted..has undoubted talent and finally managed an full season albeit at VFL level except for one game after a couple of injury interrupted years.. so may seek greater opportunites elsewhere... would not give him away and would not mind him staying

Warnock - contracted... 27 in May next year...played only 13 games so spent some time in the VFL which may lead him to seek a a trade to a team offering a spot in the best 22. Tim Harrington said he is a required player which of course can mean he is a required player or that if another club wants him they'll have to pony up what we want in a trade..would only trade for something of value if Footy department is confident Stef Martin will stand up next year..

interestingly over at TC they are claiming a swap of Warnock for Setanta is on the cards which is most amusing!

thats all really..

also interestingly Warnock and Cheney should be currently winging their way to China..presume Maric has gone top..they might have to jump off the plane and fly back!

There's said to be a WCE player on the move.

I don't think we'll be involved in any trade at the final siren.

Not a bad result, really.

Posted

The most obvious deal will be players who are keen to move at any cost (not many of those left) or pre listed players that can be had in a trade via the GC (they seem to be the lowest currency for trade week and the best value at this point in time)

I do not think the dees will make a deal.

I think there is a great chance we will pick up Dowler or Sentata or another tall for a low pick.I think we will drop Johnson & McNamara to the rookie list that is IMO..
