Hate to be the one to bring it up but where there any injuries? I read something about being short on the bench.

How great is this ... and how incompetent is the AFL not to have managed to put a stream up somewhere.

Hopeless, just hopeless. They're still back in the dark ages when it comes to media/internet etc. No TV, no problem with that, but hell, what a missed opportunity.

NO, Nature is a force of Jurrah

Jurrah doesn't kick goals he wills them

Could he be australia's first indigenous saint?

Mother Mary MacKillop has nothing on the jurrah. (rumor has it she had no left foot)

:o TOP PRIORITY !!!!!!.....CLONE LIAM JURRAH.....GET NECESSARY SAMPLES FROM HIM ASAP ...WATCHED THE GAME...BT WAS EXCELLENT WITH HIS COMMENTARY....HOPE WE GET TO WATCH A REPLAY OF THE GAME AS THE RECEPTION FROM ICS WAS VERY BAD, BUT AT LEAST THE AUDIO WAS OK.GREAT HISTORICAL VICTORY FOR THE MFC.

Hahahaaaaaaaaaa JURRAHCANE you little RIPSNORTER!!!! :)

Yes it's JUST an exhibition match where both sides were missing QUALITY players but a win overseas in Shanghai will do wonders for our pre-season training etc.

It has capped off what has been a wonderful week for the Demons.

I certainly hope there will be some highlights on Ch 7 or Fox like was mentioned earlier in this thread.

Love ya Melbourne. :)

In the excitement forgot. Last kick of the game after a great pack mark. Too much.

You make a good point about the AFL being in the "dark ages" when it comes to anything much happening outside Australia, but to be fair, there was an exclusive broadcast deal with a Chinese channel, who I would imagine could have asked for an unrealistic amount of money to broadcast elsewhere.

Evene the Australia Network (ABC's Satellite channel) didn't have it and they are normally very good with AFL - more games and better time spots, than Rugby League.

My beef is with Big Pond rather than the TV channels.

Although they manage the MFC website (unfortuately) they don;t seem to be able to show us singing when we win - if one lives outside Australia. Similarly DB's post match interview or any other interviews.

I can understand them not showing the game, unless one pays, but not club events and news items etc.

I wouldn't even mind if they made it members only.

Bah humbug to Big Pond !

Go Dees !!

No-Enforcer- not saying I am right for ONCE- mainly reposted as to say- this is a very important point in our future history. To put on an exhibition like they must have-in my opinion and I would think your as well- will or may assist us with possible increase in sponsorship, membership etc.. at least it will not hurt- don't you agree?

Well said.

Although it may appear as JUST an exhibition game with minimal "star players" playing... the fact it was played overseas and broadcast to an audience the AFL are trying to tap into means wins are quite beneficial to draw attention!!!

Exciting. Cheers Jurrah.

We need a thread filled with these.

*ahem*

Alright then... celebrations are great, but did we gain any injuries during the match? It's important we keep injuries to a minimum due to it being pre-season! The lead-up to the 2011season is critical for our boys.

- Jamar: minor injury perhaps?? Went off and then came back on to kick a goal and set up another.

- Garland: biggest concern. What happened to him after BT said (and I quote). "Garland goes down and looks hurt..."?

Yahoo....still undefeated overseas!!! That's 4 continents now.

Thanks so muchto the clever Demonlanders who kept us informed!

So exciting for 2011!!!

JJC- I second your thoughts and also Sincerely thank all the Demonlanders that were at the match whom kept us informed-- THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH.I was impressed and appreciated it immensely.

Apologies for the rubbish ICS feed on smgbb.cn - no idea what was going on with the bushland backdrop.

The broadcast looked great on TV over here, aside from the fact that we couldn't get audio from the staduim until half way through the first, meaning we had to commentate from the studio.

Jurrah had a field day, 5 goals, half a dozen more chances and he made it all look easy.

Really impressed with Col today, broke the lines and kicked long. Always dangerous.

They were the standout players.

Newton was tried in defense, got a bit of it. Most of the other players drifted in and out of the game.

At WJ's request I'm going to try to get a DVD of the game from the studio that we can distribute to you all.

Cloning is still a long way off, better to find a harem of brides and produce little Jurrahs ASAP. Father/sons in 18yrs. Just play him for every game 4 the next 4 yrs so he gets to 100 games regardless of form, would hate for him not to reach the qualification for any reason, I'd rather rush it through. A Essendon friend who was at the game was very big Kev "excited" about the Jurrahcane.

Yes please Wise! My twitter and facebook pages were in overdrive this afternoon - I did my bit to get it out there to the world!

Nice work in the studio btw - you present well.

the one short they were talking about is stemming from Tommy Scully flying home to be with family.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
