Like Wonna???

Honestly, MFC is not a family repatriation depot.

Pass.

Not suggesting this at all.

Quick defensive forwards are just about as important as contested ball winners in this era.

I'm not suggesting we should do this, rather posing the question.

I assume from your response RR that you would be dissapointed should we elect to trade for him.

Agree with you Rhino, I think we have the better one of the two.

It would want to be a very good deal for the MFC !

This is the sort of deal we would have done in the bad old days.

No for mine.

We already have Wonna in that role.

What would you offer given the number of players we are delisting and the rookies we are elevating?

Is he a critical get for us?

Think about it.

Do you think Wonna will be more effective as a defensive small forward come 2011?

I'm not so sure.

Either way having Wonna and Alywn fully fit and up and about wouldn't be a bad thing. Pace kills. We only have to look back to the Sydney match for that.

So does poor disposal.. we only have to look at McPhee in the Dockers match for that.

Pace is good but any footballer's positives are crushed immediately by poor disposal. We are not recruiting a player for forward pressure only. If we were we would probably be interested, but alas we arnt.

1. Ok so Wonna's in that role. As such that role is already full, so no one else can perform that role?

2. Hypothetically (not that I necessarily would want to mind you) third round pick or second round pick at the most (considering that pick will be around the 30 mark.)

3. No he is not critcal. Would he improve our forwardline? You don;t believe so. I ask you would he be detrimental to our forwardline?

4. I have thought about it. :o

Bennell. Jetta. Maric.

It's not just Wonna.

If the basis for drafting someone is that they wouldn't be detrimental then an argument could be made for taking basically anyone.

The fact is we don't need a small forward, and Alwyn Davey isn't even that good.

One thing lost in the equation is that most people just assume Alwyn Davey has great skills, I guess because Aaron does.

He doesn't.

In fact Alwyn's skills are almost sub-par.

Not good enough for the position he plays on the field.

A forward pocket should kick like... like... Wonaeamirri?

I question whether Bennell, Jetta or Maric have played that role consistently at all.

In relation to drafting someone detrimental to the squad i was perhaps being too flippant.

We don't need another small forward and Alwyn Davey isn;t that good is of course your opinion. I may agree with you.

I agree, I believe his skills are questionable, epecially under pressure.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
