A night at the Blueys

Great effort Chip - full back getting runner-up in the B&F - stellar year and will only get better.

Our top 3 are also the 3 in the AA squad - the coaches are right on the money!

Well done Brad Green. Superb efforts by all and well done to Frawley, Jamar.

Oh Chip, what an absolute gun!

Well done to Greeny, a worthy winner and our best senior player by an absolute mile.

Woo! Go Green! Massive congratulations.

A stellar year by Chip and Jamar as well! AA for all three ;)

However... the biggest congratulations goes to the MFC family. Massive year this one - a corner has been turned with the new kids on the block and key players improving dramatically.

Someone has to ask it . . . . Where did Cameron the Bruce end up?

Beat me to it.

Thanks for the updates. Enjoy the rest of the night.

Garland was rewarded for his efforts. Good to see.

Scully 8th in his first year. Lift your game son. That'll be the lowest he ever goes in one of these for the rest of his career, injury aside.

Very positive night.

And you'd have to say, however they structured the votes worked beautifully. That's a pretty damn accurate top 10 for the year from the list. Sylvia maybe a spot or two high. Jmac could have gone a few spots higher, Bruce I thought deserved a top 5 spot. But otherwise pretty much dead on.

I think they were on the money for the first 7 at least Tipped 7!

Well done Scully. Great first year...

Congrats to Greeny!!!!!

Chip, great effort and great to see the club notice fullbacks :) We know come brownlow the umps don't

Jamar, stellar effort, I thought you were better than you had ever played but, even you suprised me this year.

Bring on 2011!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting Jonesy plays all 22 games and doesn't make top 10

Anyone know where he finished?

Congratulations Brad Green.

And great efforts by Chip and Russian.

From the photos, Spencer should be retained and elevated to the main list. B)

And the winner of the Bluey Truscott Memorial Trophy for the first time is Brad Green.

An honour to be here tonight and to win this award.

And sincere thanks for your coverage.Congratulations to all winners and the rest - best wishes for next year, try hard it could be you.

had a really good night

was good saying bye to miller and bell

loved jamar moloney and rivers in the single ladies film clip hahaha

Well done to Green. For all 3 awards he picked, he looks sure to be the skipper in 2010.

Sylvia has a B&F in him if he plays a full season, his good games are better than most.

Great stuff by Chip & Russian.

Nice to see Jordie finally get some recognition for a great season with the coaches award.

Scully, top 10 already! Will win a few Bluey's, no doubt.

Video? Anyone?

Side-boobs at a black tie event are a big no no. Same goes for dresses which are more than halfway up the thigh.

On the plus side, they'd all look great at whichever club they're going to afterwards.

Best & Fairests are typically less formal than say, the Brownlow. Surely your apparent fashion nous would have realised that the dress code is not infact black tie, clearly, given that players are instructed to wear their club suit thus making the dress code 'lounge suit' at best. Zero side boob in that collection of photos, and only 2 pics that's you can actually see the hemline of so your claims of mid thigh length dresses are dubious. Jealousy is a such a curse...

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
