As someone else said, he's unlikely to leave QLD as he wanted to stay there with his gf in the first place. I think he'll go to GC. He's the sort of player they need, and they clearly have the means to make it happen..

Michael Voss should do one of those 'idiot's guide' books and title it, 'How to completely ruin a football club in 18 months'..

You mean "Trading for Dummies..."

But seriously, they were doing okay at 4-0, weren't they.

Appearances can be deceptive.

Its not just the trading and drafting strategy which has been mostly disastrous, but also his non-inclusive way of dealing with his coaching staff. From the things i've heard, he's too much of a dictator and doesnt give enough responsibility to his assistants - which could explain the revolving door of assistant coaches that have come and gone since he took over..

I think Jonathon Brown was probably the main reason they were 4-0. As soon as he fell away, so did the rest of the team.

Looks like today they've just lost another one, albeit this time he was "sacked".

PR machine in full-effect.

Just been made official...

Good signing. will lead their midfield with Swallow

If GC has 'officially' signed any Melbourne players they would certainly have announced them by now, considering they've had 2 signings announcments.

I'm definitely hoping no Melbourne players leave to GC.

I hope Jones backs himself, signs for 1 year, has a good season then goes to GWS.

I he goes to GC this year we won't get enough for him because we weren't smart enough to rig the B&F.

Re: Rischitelli, I think they have to get a 1st round pick for him, not an AFTER 1st round pick like the crows.

Rischitelli has been in significantly better form and is 3 years younger than Bock.

Not good enough for a pick BEFORE the 1st round, but the Lions could certainly use it, to rebuild their current shambles of a list.

Seeing as the Lions have not yet held their B&F and the compensation is apparently dependent on that, do the Lions now have to wait until after the results, even though he has signed, before they find out what compensation they will receive..?

Rigging B&F's to get better value? You do like a conspiracy.

I do.

You'd need to be fairly sure he wanted to leave and you'd need to know early on, but it could easily have been done for a player like Rischitelli, if he hadn't had an exceptional season.

Lucky for the Lions, he has.

(or UNLUCKY)

You really have to LOL at Voss. Takes on the senior role without even 1 year of coaching experience as an assistant. Thinks he's gods gift to coaching. He has officially [censored] up the lions for years to come.

Brisbane:

Receive- Fevola (cancer for any club)

Cost

- pick 12

- Henderson... very promising player

- Bradshaw... left as a direct result of Voss' treatment of him during the Fev deal. Is at least the equal of Fevola and is a quality player

- Rischitelli.. quality midfielders who also left bc of Voss shafting him during Fev deal

- who'll be next... Drummand, Brennan rumoured to being leaving, could be interpreted as an indirect result of the Fev deal

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
