Bail - fearless attacking game

Bartram- continued outstanding season

Bennell - was rarely sighted

Bruce - was great again

Davey - some important possessions

Dunn - loved his endeavour

Frawley - nothing to dislike

Garland - made few errors

Green - important when needed

Jamar - made an impression

Johnson - did his share

Jones - terrific in close

Jurrah - a poor game

MacDonald - fantastic first half

McDonald - effective tagging game

Morton - effective linking game

Rivers - safe and sensible

Scully - prolific but wasteful

Sylvia - in sublime form

Watts - effective without intensity

Wonaeamirri - had little involvement

McKenzie - a powerhouse worker

Garland - absolutely pwned Fevola

Jurrah - Not back yet

Watts - racked them up + should have more confidence in kicking goals, but unselfishness isn't a bad problem to have.

Bennell - electric then erratic

Fevola was off the ground injured after half time. Clearly was not fit tonight. Rumours were that he would not play.

But despite that he boasted to the media before the game that he would kick seven tonight:)!!!

:rolleyes::lol:

This should not detract from Garlands game which was good.

Wonaeamirri - had little involvement

Hell no. His tackling and forward pressure were huge. Had a run down from behind in the last quarter that stopped them in their tracks. He was a momentum shifter tonight. A really good game from him.

Sylvia - YM Was Right

Jurrah - Oceanic Flight 815

Garland - Career best game

Watts - No forward (yet)

McKenzie - Pure contested genius

Macdonald - Bad move Voss

Fevola - Worse move Voss

Dunn - Three killer goals.

Bail - fearless attacking game

I have become a massive fan of Bail, he is quick, glides across the ground, gets the hard ball and uses it well. I've mentioned it before but I saw him play for Casey and he was fairly average but when playing for Melbourne he seems a lot better, suits the way the game in the AFL is played more.

I was at the intraclub practice match at the start of the year and was amazed to see him line up on Jurrah. At the time I needed to dig out a team list to figure out who the guy was. However, it was clear that the club had plans for him from that moment. To play him on Jurrah was telling everyone how highly rated he is by the coaching panel and he's showed us this year that it is more than justified.

Don't you start,

Jurrah - Oceanic Flight 815

Clever.

You are right about the gliding across the ground - amazing to watch really.

I wrote the following in April - nothing has changed.

.......

Bail also brings an X factor. Look no further than the first goal against the filth: running for and demanding an over the top pass before running into an open goal. How many of us can remember such daring, taking the game on from a demon player?

Make no mistake, Bail is an absolute gun. (Perhaps I should say: he could be an absolute gun? :))

Garland - Career best game

Garland's game in 2008 against a rampaging Buddy was his best I reckon. Buddy kicked 100 that year and Garland held him to 2 or 3 from memory - when we were shizen.

Not taking anything away from that particular game, but Garland and Buddy are a good match athletically, but to see Garland beat a forward much much stronger than him, was great. It was a side of his game that I haven't seen from him yet.

I bless the medical team and our good fortune for getting him back on the field. It would have been a massive blow to lose him to his dodgy foot, when he has the skills, pace and strength to become an elite defender. Hopefully good management will see him play 200 games for us.

Great to see Bail play well again.

There were people calling for this bloke to be traded or delisted.

Hope their words taste nice cause this kid is a gem.

GOAG... Bail is super. Love this kid.

A great team is made up partly of it's big 5 or 6 players... they get all the press. But they're nothing without second tier guys. Bail is a little ripper. His use may not be extraordinary, but it's useful. And when the pressure is on, his kicking doesn't wilt.

He's got pace, smarts, he goes is good and hard. He's making BP look VERY clever. One of my favourites. A player I feel justified getting behind. I reckon he could be our next Nathan Brown type.

But despite that he boasted to the media before the game that he would kick seven tonight:)!!!

TALK IS CHEAP!

My Brother lives in Brisbane and follows the Lions, he says the talk is that a large part of the club ( Not just supporters ) want him out. Their big problem is he has almost no currency. Is there a club that would take him for nothing let alone give the lions anything?

My view last night was "as soon as he was gone the Lions Forwards fired up."

It was like they said thank god he is out of the road!

Same, as soon as Fev went of i got worried it might give Brown more space. If he kicked a few he would get his players and the crowed going.

Also i was enjoying Garland give him a belting.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
