Disaster season for Saints

might still need to match up the DNA.

So one lucks in and other lucks out? I guess that's sex though. :o:wub:

hope the said players dont have a wife and kids of their own. That could ruin a family and players confidence. Saying St Kilda star implies its big name players

Why dont ppl learn if u want to do it with a stranger/random protect yourself not hard to do

I don't really see how this is anyones business other than the family and the players involved.

Any suggestion that the 'other palyer' from 'another club' who is a friend of the girl is a former Saint who is friend with these players?

I don't really see how this is anyones business other than the family and the players involved.

Only that there has been voluminous training, counselling and information given to players about the problems of contact with young girls with stars in their eyes. The perils of such relationships have been thoroughly and endlessly covered in player sex and relationship education initiated by the AFL.

The issue therefore seems to be that these players have probably been thinking with an organ somewhat lower than the one they ought to have been thinking with.

Both are legal aren't they? So long as the girl is 16, and it is consensual I don't think they will be in trouble with the law.

No. If 16 the partner must be within 2 years. My understanding anyway.

That will sure help the situation.

It would make you feel better! :P

You do have to wonder why a footballer has to get it on with a school girl, when he surely has plenty of other more sound choices.

Then again, a lack of intelligence from both parties makes for a very dangerous mix, and the one that really lucked out is the poor baby!

I don't really see how this is anyones business other than the family and the players involved.

The other issue here is that if the initial contact was made at an AFL school clinic (even though the players claim not to have remembered her from the clinic they supposedly were involved in, which isn't surprising), it could have a very bad effect on the AFL's ability to keep running these clinics in schools.

No. If 16 the partner must be within 2 years. My understanding anyway.

According to Google Victoria's age of consent is 16. So a 96 year old can legally sleep with a 16 year old.

It is a defense if the partner is 10 or older and you believed they were 16. OR You were within 2 years of the age of the partner.

So there are no legal issues in this case (unless she is unusually young for a VCE student).

I'm with the poster who said this is no-one's business. (Edit: Arthur Dent).

Saying St Kilda star implies its big name players

That's what I thought too initially, but dismissed it immediately. When journalists are trying to sensationalise (as they are in this article) they toss the word "star" around like chocolate. I'd interpret "St. Kilda star" as "one of the 40-odd players on the St. Kilda list".

I'm with the poster who said this is no-one's business. (Edit: Arthur Dent).

Maybe, but if this is the case: -

The other issue here is that if the initial contact was made at an AFL school clinic .........it could have a very bad effect on the AFL's ability to keep running these clinics in schools.

That's the AFL's business and arguably the general community's business. In effect that's a whole lot of business.

The other issue here is that if the initial contact was made at an AFL school clinic (even though the players claim not to have remembered her from the clinic they supposedly were involved in, which isn't surprising), it could have a very bad effect on the AFL's ability to keep running these clinics in schools.

Apparently she told them she worked at the AIS, could explain her being at a footy clinic?

But really, as Arthur Dent has said, who gives a rat's. No legal issues, move along.

The title has been snipped.

Posters are requested to exercise extreme caution when dealing with this subject.

Sorry 'Demonland', I was saying I feel sorry for Saint Nick for all the trouble his & their season is turning into.

I in no way suggested his involvement with this untidy issue.

Just to play devils advocate here. Seems shes gone to some lengths to play footsie footsie with these guys..( and another by all acounts) .. lets not suggest shes little miss innocent here. Strikes me as some sort of Footy Fun Fanatic. She' supposedly displayed herself as 'of age" on facebook etc.

Looks to me shes rolled the dice..and come up craps. who's the instigator here ?? We dont know the age of the players. It could all be quite legal....if stupid !!

oh..and for the record.. I have 14 and 16 yo daughters...take them out of their school uniforms and into dress up civvies and its bloody scarey !!! Youd think in this day and age players would be all but young-girl shy..but boys will be boys...and strangely enough...girls wil lbe women

Yeah, thats my take as well 'belzebub59'. All fun & no responsibility all round here I think.

There all to blame as the information appears. and as such, they should all cop the wrath of society, including the media. If they don't, & are percieved to have 'gotten away with it', then others will surely follow.

The player(s) will just deny recalling any previous meeting that made it obvious her age was < 18. If she has admitted to lying about her age then I can't see what they have done wrong.

Whoever said this is a personal issue between the player(s) involved and the girl is spot on, but stories like this sell papers and get people watching news so it will be covered...ad nauseum.

If she lied about her age, and it seems they have proof she did because it's on her facebook page, there is no criminal wrong doing.

If you are a male in a nightclub (default 18+ to enter the premesis), and have sex with a girl from there, (either there or at home the same night) then it is later discovered that she is underage, it is my understanding that YOU can still get in trouble! Who on earth is going to ask for ID before the deed??

I'd take the rumours flying around about who the St Kilda player is with a grain of salt.

(EDIT I love this site too much)

Oh, that was the other thing I caught from Tim on SEN; he said that allegedly one player had sex with the girl, then the other player had sex with her two weeks later (it is alleged).

To answer your question Maurie, I think they would either determine how long she is into her pregnancy or just for confirmation, might still need to match up the DNA... .

My god, sounds like an episode of Maury Povich!

The only issue in this is if they were in contact from the clinic at the school, otherwise it is a matter between two legally consenting people. Not a great image for the game, but hardly an Andrew Johns fiasco.

No, BUT could be,,, If the players involved are married or have fiance's, girlfriends of, etc.

Just a dirty business for all concerned, especially for the innocent 3rd parties caught in this Pig swill.

i wouldnt be naming names carn dees.

just to add, i have also heard that the 3rd player involved plays for collingwood. i have absolutely NOTHING to back this up, it is just what i have heard.

Yeah fair enough, happy for that to be deleted.

A reminder: Guys & girls be careful. Don't go posting any players names on this site in relation to this issue for legal reasons. Thanks.

Why is everybody being so negative about this... just think about Stkildas Father/Son player in 2018,, its could be a mix of 2 great champions...

  • NON-MFC: Round 05

Gather Round is here, kicking off with a Thursday night blockbuster as Adelaide faces Geelong. The Crows will be out for redemption after a controversial loss last week. Saturday starts with the Magpies taking on the Swans. Collingwood will be eager to cement their spot in the top eight, while Sydney is hot on their heels. In the Barossa Valley, two rising sides go head-to-head in a fascinating battle to prove they're the real deal. Later, Carlton and West Coast face off at Adelaide Oval, both desperate to notch their first win of the season. The action then shifts to Norwood, where the undefeated Lions will aim to keep their streak alive against the Bulldogs. Sunday’s games begin in the Barossa with Richmond up against Fremantle. In Norwood, the Saints will be looking to take a scalp when they come up against the Giants. The round concludes with a fiery rematch of last year's semi-final, as the Hawks seek revenge for their narrow loss to Port Adelaide. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
