On the AFL home page, there's a link to Game Analyser.

Click here to go straight there http://www.gameanalyser.afl.com.au/Default.aspx

At the bottom of the centred video player, there are Events you can choose from. Goals, free kicks.....

The moment you click on these features, you get a timeline with coloured bubbles highlighting the period in the match for that particular event.

Click on your selected moment and the video player replays it for you instantly. The player will continue with the games replay until you select another Event.

Simply awesome.

The fact that it works is awesome enough.

That is an awesome innovation. Very handy for the clubs too I'd imagine, as well as the fans.

Thanks for that Finks.

Clubs have a similar type service internally. I was involved in providing the IT consulting for one of the clubs last year. However, the clubs have deeper and more specific 'Events' to track.

This new AFL service for the public is definitely special, but I doubt club officials will be logging on themselves.

I love the inside 50s and I'd love an Event for stoppages.

When you analyse some of the plays a bit more during that game. You can see how important Jordie McKenzie can be in the initial link-up plays from stoppages. Good hands.

The clubs have a program which shows every involvment a player has throughout a match. The boys spend quite a bit of time re-watching themselves during the week to illustrate the instructions they're being given by the coaches.

Just as long as your internet's with Bigpond. Because I am, and it's unmetered, the uncounted usage for a few days ago was 1500 MB. Some other days it doesn't go past 10.

exactly why we struggled against north melbourne. he has been very important this year, and completely off the radar. as well as those important touches he straightens us up by often either feeding into the corridoor or getting his possessions when making position in the corridoor.

i hope they teach his game to someone else for next time he is absent.

That is gold!

Could watch the Bennell goal and Nathan Jones goal over and over!

The build up to the Jones goal with the quick hands highlights just how much our skills have improved as a team over the last 18 months.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
