Did anyone hear Dean Bailey's comment at the after-match press conference on Friday Night?

He said the team will move on in 24 hours and next Saturday will "be coming at West Coast like a freight train"

It cheered me up no end on the drive home - I belive him!

We absolutely will. The silver lining on that loss is that the boys will be hurting, and will have a massive point to prove.

I didn't pick us against the Roos... I had a LOT more confidence in us against the Dogs, but still thought we'd just get found out... But against the Toast? I'm picking a 60+ point win. Their form against the Hawks is no indication as they have no ruckmen or KP defenders... both things we have in abundance. Also our Pre-season game might as well have been 30 years ago such is the difference in the teams.

Did you see Nat Jones twitter after the game. He wanted to play WC straight away. Can't wait. Also who was the player that cleaned up Col Sylvia preseason - I'd be very afraid. That freight train is coming.

Josh Kennedy look out!

I'm so glad Dean said this. I want to see us rip the coasters a new one.

Weren't there murmurs that Sylvia was targeted after his working over (and subsequent suspension) of Selwood last year?

I'd rather Sylvia make West Coast pay on the scoreboard. If we play how we've played 5 of the last 6 weeks we'll win and win well. If.

Yes and no. Just make sure that he knows every time he goes for a mark there will be a freight train behind him. Every time he goes for the ball he will be tackled by two or three men in red and blue and punished and when he is on that plane going home that every inch of his body aches. Every player should be paying him back but not Col because that is what is expected and what the ump's will be looking for. I'm not saying do something that could get reported . I'm saying let him know that the team doesn't respect him but we will support one of our own. Finally, of course show him on the scoreboard.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
