3. Having players available in the centre of Melbourne is vital in season. Every wondered why Collingwood is always in the news? Because Journo's are lazy and would prefer a 5 minute drive down the road instead of heading to Frankston ( St.Kilda) Waverley ( Hawthorn) etc.

First, I'm pretty sure they didn't suddenly become big news when they moved into what was the Lexus Centre. Second, I reckon the big interest Collingwood attracts - from their huge supporter base and from the attitude fans of other teams have towards them - plays a big part in their media coverage.

4. Casey can accomodate closed sessions. Vital during the summer period when team tactics are being planned.

How's that? I've been down there a few times and it was extremely open. I hope this isn't relying on the idea that footy people are too lazy to drive out to Casey :P

6. AAMI is across the road from MCG. When in season, post match, players can start their rehab straight away. No more sessions at St.Kilda beach or MSAC etc.the day after. These facilities will give our players 24hours more recovery time than they currently enjoy.

Don't players with decent facilities still hit the beach the next day? I might be wrong on this though.

Meanwhile, they might want to consider auctioning off some of the 'junk' from the 'Junk'tion oval. There's always a market for odd-ball memorabilia, and it adds a touch of ceremony.

Nice idea - I like it. One man's trash...

Medical imaging - x-ray, CT scan, ultrasound, MRI etc. It would be part of the Olympic Park Sports Medicine Center, which will move from just down the road. Very useful for our players to have access to this medical imaging department for scans.

OPSM have already moved into the stadium some time ago I believe. Very handy.

You could be excused for assuming we wouldn't be playing on a friday night.

Is this the first game at AAMI Park?

Good game to be at, pity about the scheduling.

Yea 1st ever game, the reason I'm going and I thought he might have been Union when it was 1st announced.

As I said previously if the Rebels are not looking to have there admin or training there hopefully it will open up a lot more space and the Dee's can look at rolling all of the staff into the new stadium. Also frees up training/pools/gym up for us to use too I would expect.

We'll never move lock, stock into AAMI Park. We never want to lose our presence at the MCG.

We might not move all offices into AAMI Park, but it's not because we don't want to lose our presence at the 'G.

Check out the recent comments by Schwab re: the mooted Docklands development - he says that having all departments under one roof is an attractive proposition.

Cam has mentioned this a few times now,which is totally undertandable.However, he has also says the MCG will always be home. This to me,says ,whilst the operations of the club maybe elsewhere, our heritage and future playing wise will always be at the MCG

    It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.
