Looking at the 2010 list- what do you feel Casey needs to do to go further? These are my thoughts-- One thing,I see is to get all players onto the park.Players like-2 Simpson Scott 19/10/1989 196 96 Geelong (AFL),is he up to a full season or get rid of him?

I think we missed a Waite Ben 30/06/1984 190 100 Old Haileybury for the year along with Stockdale Michael 29/08/1990 178 75 Gippsland Power.McDonald Luke 29/04/1990 195 92 Eastern Ranges played ok either at CHB or forward and could make a player.

And with natural improvement from the MFC list,Casey should really look forward to a higher position next year. Hopefully with their captain back in the fold-Matthews Kyle 17/12/1985 178 74 Ringwood teaming up with-I think the recruit of the year-Nicholls Danny 02/03/1987 177 80 Collingwood (VFL)/Rowville,they will make a formidable outfit.May need a ruckman and a tall backman to add to the list.Your opinions please.

The problem is that while VFL clubs can put in some preparatory recruiting work at this time and they never stop looking for prospective players, they are constrained by the fact that they need to wait till the outcome of the trades and drafts (including the rookie draft which takes place about a week before Christmas). It's only then that many players are prepared to commit and that the VFL counterparts know what to look for e.g. if Melbourne rookied 2 or 3 more ruckmen, you wouldn't expect Casey to go out and chase too many players of the same type.

Got your point totally but a seasoned CHB is what the club needs IMO. And they could go and get one of those.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
